Newer jeeps have a T35 bolt holding the rotor on. Great video though! Flying out with a CVJ44 set to install into my grandmothers jeep tomorrow. Wish me luck!

If the CV joint is on the axel on the FAD side before the orange boot is on the axel, it is nearly impossible to get the boot over the FAD gear and seal step. This isn’t easy to tell from the video where it’s magically installed.

Hey guys thank you for the video, can you guys share the torque in all the bolt and nuts that can be helpful for people with not lot experience.

What about the small fad axel near differential?

Huh... cv vs u-joint.

Why not do a solid axle shaft?
@RM-ys1bn5 жыл бұрын
I agree. Even though this is electronic vs the vacuum on the YJ and XJs, it is still something that is weaker than a one piece shaft.
@cd28754 жыл бұрын
@@RM-ys1bn Because of the FAD. You can get solid right side axle which deleted the FAD (front axle disconnect)

@@cd2875 I definitely will on my Sport JT, but after the warranty.
@cd28754 жыл бұрын
@@RM-ys1bn I am still on the fence about the FAD. I do like the fact that when not in 4 wheel drive, the inner parts are not moving. I havn't heard of anyone yet, having issues. I think it is one of those things, that people 'poo poo' right away without putting any real thought into it. If the FAD becomes a major failure point, I will delete it. Until then I am using it.
@RM-ys1bn4 жыл бұрын
@@cd2875 Yea, like I said... I'll wait for the warranty to end and see how it is then. I hated the FAD on my 92 YJ so hopefully this is way more reliable.

only the JL Rubicon model have Front Axle Disconnect ? or its also available on the sport or Sahara ?
@casey1979303 жыл бұрын
Rubicon
@BennyTygohome3 жыл бұрын
@@casey197930 that's incorrect. The FAD is on all JL and Gladiator jeeps, not just Rubicon variants. That includes Sport JLs

Wont water get into the axle tube then unto differential? Looks like no seal is there.. What is the solution for that?
@cd28754 жыл бұрын
For added cost, they have very nice tube seals that have grease fitting and are rebuildable. I have them for my JL
@robertring21322 жыл бұрын
the factory axle seals are still in the axle tube.
