Thanks, first time if been that close to the dancers. The group leader knew me from my other Apache Crown Dancer vids. So I was able to stand next to the singers, with dancers right in front of me.

Awesome song does anyone know what it's called the first one kind of reminds me of a song I heard in a 1990 version movie on Geronimo. These kids did an awesome job

Is this a cross I'm seeing ? why would that be incorporated into the tradition of crown dancers. Christianity has nothing to do with this. Very sad to see this
@rd47blog9 жыл бұрын
+Tina Pritchett For some reason you see the use of the Cross with many Native American art pieces. Maybe something to do with symbol in the Sky, not sure. Thanks for your comment.
@tinapritchett91739 жыл бұрын
I understand that symbols are used, my father is full blooded apache and has taught us some of the traditions. I guess what I'm saying is, our traditions, culture etc should remain as it was in the past, there was no Jesus Christ that our people prayed to. Prayer then was given only to the Creator...
@tinapritchett91739 жыл бұрын
The crosses are a new thing, and what I mean by new is when the white man suppressed the indian and their ways and beliefs were forced on the native American

+Tina Pritchett Catholic church forced the Hopi at Gun Point to build a church on Old Oraibi (Oravyi) 3rd Mesa in the 1500s. When the church was completed. A lightning strike burned it to the ground, (Karma). Today only the rock walls survive.
