Back in high school when they opened up a Popeyes here (closest ones were in neighboring cities) it was so crappy bruh. The food was awful, many people dealt with their food being undercooked, one of my teachers told us that she went there and she was getting some water and black sludge came out instead 🤢 they ended up closing it down to get their shit together and fast forward to today about 3.5 years later it’s not that bad now

I went to a Popeyes in Texas and the cashier spoke little to no English. I had a very specific order and I knew he didn't understand me. The order was for my mom: 2 piece dark, two thighs - this guy gave her two legs. I checked and the order was wrong. I went back & told him he got the order wrong. He didn't understand me. I pulled the chicken out of the box with my hand and showed him the two legs. He then understood. Here's the nasty part. He put the chicken back under the hot lamps. I told him you can't do that. My man started laughing. I said "nah bruh... get the manager." I spoke to the manager who had them toss chicken. Owner called the next day and offered gift certificates. I turned him down for obvious reasons. Word to the wise. Popeyes in New Orleans is awesome. Popeyes outside of New Orleans or south Louisiana is very inconsistent and often nasty.
