The zombies you DON'T want to be up against are the ones from the Return of the Living Dead series. Because, not only can they turn people into zombies by biting them, even the gas that made them into zombies can infect you, and turn you while you're still alive. Plus, once infected, those zombies can't be taken down by headshots, and the only way to truly get rid of them for good is to chop them up and burn every piece of them. But once you do that, the smoke from their corpses, if breathed in, can infect you. The smoke will also linger in the clouds, mix with the water vapor, and rain back down, waking up more corpses. Even corpses from places like cemeteries, that have dead for years. Essentially creating an zombie army. They were the first true running zombies, and they retain enough of their intelligence to be able to speak, formulate traps, and set up ambushes.

I’d put it like this, in a world war z scenario the only way you aren’t getting added to the hoard is constantly moving. every moment you’re still, every moment you’re scouting for food, every moment you’re stopping to think about your next move, its getting closer and you better hope you aren’t driving toward it, because by the time you realize you are, its already too late. theres no walls high enough that they can’t scale, no human run speed they can’t match or better, if you get bit or scratched, or get their blood in you by any means you have 12 seconds. no one is surviving like that. your greatest strength as survivalist is your ability to prep for whats ahead of you. that scenario robs you of that completely. atleast with I am legend you get rest, they can be outsmarted, and at worst reasoned with. - sincerely, a fan and zombie nerd 😂

Well realistically I’m pretty sure it would’ve been physically impossible for them to pile bodies like the to climb the wall or at least it wouldn’t happen that fast (also those choppers patrolling definitely would’ve seen that pile way sooner). The I Am Legend Virus is airborne so even if we assume that you are immune thousands of people are getting infected without getting bit so there’s definitely just as many of them out there if not more than wwz (can’t remember we’re I am legend takes place exactly but if was on an island that would explain why there weren’t as many infected

Brother you are not resting in I am Legend, if they are after you during night time it's over. And just because it's day time doesn't mean they can't follow you or scout you. Even trying to find a shelter or food is gonna be a problem because they can set traps where you get your food, and they are inside buildings to avoid the sun. They can literally wait for you to sleep and snap your neck. Good luck. Things you can do during the day: - pray you aren't being followed - scavenge for food and water (without encountering a zombie, which you will they are inside buildings) - try to fortify your shelter (good luck bruh lol) Things you can do during the night: - Not sleep (you're getting jumped) - pray they didn't see you and that there isn't any way they can get in either through brute force or by flushing you out with a fire, dogs or what not. That world will kill people through sleep deprivation alone. Only way I see you surviving is if you have an underground bunker in a large open desert with an airtight hatch and air conditioning. Only time you'll get to sleep. You'll still have to get food. Edit: Forgot to add, the disease in I am Legend is airborne and kills most people, turns the rest and very few are immune. It has killed billions already but this is only if you remain human in the first place. Even if you do, food is gonna be hard to get and water too, even a place to sleep. You're playing mystery box with your life every time you go inside any building. And you have to find shelter during the day, scavenge food and fortify your shelter... all in one day, and the cycle continues if they find you, you have to move (provided you survive the attack). With 99% of people already dead, you're not gonna find that many people to help you.

@TimDaGoof I don’t think it matters how intelligent someone is, the buildings you will enter for either food or shelter will have dark seekers in them or they won’t. You can prepare and make an approach but you cannot predict the outcome. However I’ve been thinking about this lately and looked into why they burn under the sun. There isnt a specific explanation for it just yet, but I would assume they are walking corpses only animated by bacterium who are sensitive to ultraviolet light. This means we could use blacklights to burn them and turn them on during the night, which would make it far easier than WWZ. But there is no guarantee that will work. I understand that Will was being pursued by them for his experiments, but I doubt they would let you live if they saw you. Just think about it, let’s say you start during the day, you have less than 24 hours to find shelter and food. Where are you gonna find those things? In buildings infested with dark seekers who will try to eliminate you. You may see one from the outside, and stay out in the sun. Cool. Nice. But what if it alerts other ones and start tracking you from the shadows? And as the day keeps going you find yourself surrounded by increasingly less sunlight. They could be anywhere nearby. Now what do you do? I’m gonna assume you have a shelter, but they have superhuman strength so your shelter mustn’t have windows or doors that can be broken easily. Just survive by using guns but they will hear you, and you will attract more. Even if you survive the night you’ll be exhausted the next day and relocate, whilst still looking for your next meal.

This could have easily been simplified: IAL zombies have a significantly lower chance of actually finding you in the first place, but if they do you’re pretty much dead. WWZ zombies have a high chance of finding you, but if they do you have a better chance of escaping them. Unless it’s one of the hordes, then you’re pretty much dead for sure. I lived in Houston during this and we had to handle it for abt a week to two. Electricity came back on for a few locations abt a couple of days in but it was sparse. So i could go to my aunts house to charge my phone and take a shower for example. Not everyone could and also we didnt stay there. Just to get a shower. The roads werent as used, they were probably on the freeway or mustve been somewhere congested as we sometimes went to one store that was selling fresh baked bread which was nice. Having only 4 days of that like RDC is nice, but they did take a huge risk on traveling to Waco like they said. (Traveling on Roads was not advised or safe.) No one prepped or planned but my family is carpentry mechanic leaning so we could get some snow tires in Texas for the cars

The I AM LEGEND zombies became that way because of a virus outbreak due to scientist manipulating and combining different strains of deadly viruses that ended up affecting the humans on a molecular scale, which changed everyone's DNA. The reason why Will Smith's character didn't change is because he had a natural immunity. The I AM LEGEND zombies don't feed on other people, everyone changed because of the virus spreading. They are technically sub-human mutants and not traditional zombies who need to feed on other living creatures.

I’ll take I Am Legend 9/10 as my the easier of the two to survive. They are probably the smartest, most coordinated infected type even though they aren’t technically “zombies”. They are more like the infected from “28 Days Later” which can still be killed, drowned, starved, burned, etc. Will did get hoed because of ole girl, but he was also in a delirium where he found himself yelling and having casual conversations with a mannequin. Yes, he was a scientist, but he was also half-way crazy. Throughout the entirety of IAL, he explains the ways on how he masked his presence from the darkseekers up until he met ole girl. On the contrast, WWZ zombies dgaf how high or dense your stronghold is. As we seen in Jerusalem, they will walk in your trap and take over your trap lmao. The rate of infection is probably the highest as has the fastest transmission speed at 13 seconds after a bite. Literally, someone could get but trying to escape, run into the fortress, transform as the whole army is gone. The fact is, those zombie dogs could’ve easily been mowed down as they were waiting for the light to dissipate but ya know, plot. Point blank, Darkseekers weren’t making it over the wall in Jerusalem. If you’re there, you’re safe since there aren’t many bunker areas close by if any for the darkSeekers to rest in during the day so they have to make an incredible journey just to pull up then struggle to even get over the wall, let alone attack a potential military force waiting.
