It's tough cuz the manga was a master piece, but the anime was W A Y to rushed (In season 3 and 4) and didn't hit nearly as hard as the Manga did. But to be fair the Anime director was told by the Author of Tokyo Ghoul to split off from the original story. This isnt an excuse for what season 3 and 4 turned out to be but Tokyo Ghoul (The anime) could have been significantly better and be on par with some of the top anime if it didn't get screwed up. It really sucks to see wasted potential on such an amazing story
