as you said, it's all good. I've tried to tell first time listeners of Lateralus that the subject matter is quite fascinating. IMHO, it's Maynard's journey with a certain South American herbal brew that takes you into uncharted mental territory. Re listen to the closing, the scream, standing, crawling up his skin to his brain, the trip with spirals.

People tend to concentrate on the Fibanaci Sewuence instead of just enjoying this Masterpiece, then complain they didn’t get it. I’d they just listen to the music then try and figure out how the Fibanaci Sequence is used in the song they would have a much better appreciation for the song. Great Review 👍
@RDMusicExchange3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I was listening to this track for at least 10 years before I knew about the Fibonacci part - and then it just added a whole new layer to the song for me. As with most Tool songs - I always find new elements almost every time I listen to then. But I agree with you - sometimes people get too caught up in it. That's why I didn't mention it until after Rach had heard the song. Better to enjoy it first and then be fascinated by it second! :) Hope you enjoy our other Tool videos! Thanks for watching!

@RDMusicExchange3 жыл бұрын
The Fibonacci sequence is a series of numbers where the number is made up of the two previous numbers added together. (0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13 etc). So the Lyrics in the verses are using this sequence if the syllables Black (1) And (1) White are (2) All I See (3) In My Infancy (5) Red and Yellow Then Came To Me (8) Musically they also jump around different time signatures what are part of the sequence. There are some cool video on KZbin explaining these. Blows my mind :)
