An average route with a night service which should be extended to Patmore Estate imo.
History
Route 250 was commenced on 14 May 1988 between Brixton Station and Croydon Katharine Street via Streatham Hill - Green Lane - Parchmore Road - Brigstock Road - London Road as a Monday to Saturday route. The route was initially operated by South London from their Streatham (AK) Garage using Leyland Olympian. The route was introduced to replace the withdrawn section of route 159 between Green Lane and Parchmore Road.
By 6 January 1990, the allocation was transferred from Streatham (AK) to Brixton (BN) garages and the Leyland Olympians were replaced by MCW Metrobuses.
On 21 July 1990, the allocation was transferred to Thornton Heath (TH) garage, a Sunday service was introduced and the route was also converted back to Leyland Olympians.
In 1996, South London was renamed Cowie South London, with yellow diagonal stripes added on the back of the buses. Two years later, Arriva bought out Cowie and the buses were repainted with a cream/white cow horn applied to the front of their buses.
In January 1999, the route was converted to low floor operation using 10.6m Alexander ALX400 bodied DAF DB250LFs.
On 3 February 2001, the allocation was transferred back to Brixton (BN) Garage and was converted back to Leyland Olympian operation.
On 1 September 2001, the allocation was transferred back to Thornton Heath (TH) garage and was converted back to low floor operation using Alexander ALX400 bodied DAF DB250LFs.
On 30 August 2003, part of the allocation was transferred to Brixton (BN) garage.
On 20 March 2004, the route was converted into a 24-hour service.
On 21 August 2006, the Croydon terminus was moved from Katharine Street to Park Street.
On 28 August 2010, the route was retained by Arriva London with brand new Alexander Dennis Enviro 400s introduced and the Brixton (BN) allocation was transferred to Thornton Heath (TH) garage.
On 26 August 2017, the route was retained by Arriva London.
On 2 November 2019, the route was withdrawn between Croydon Town Centre and West Croydon Bus Station. The night service was renumbered N250 at the same time.

I think N250 should get extended to New Addington via 64, and then 64 won’t have to be 24hr

I agree, the N250 could do with an extension

I always thought the 250 between Brixton and Streatham was pointless because of 109,159, 118...loads of buses. Maybe divert it after Streatham to Wandsworth via Tooting Bec and Trinity Road.
