I'm a Texas gunsmith and have NO critique of your technique. However, I find it amazing if not miraculous that your new barrel head spaced properly from the factory. I have built many, many hunting rifles on Mauser actions and have never had one head space out of the box. In fact, most were purpose ordered "short chambered" so I could cut the headspace exactly where I wanted. With mass manufacturing tolerances what they must be, you were lucky indeed to find a barrel that was right on. I only hope any of the viewers of your excellent video are not lulled into believing all they will have to do is order a barrel and screw it on. BTW no "proofing" necessary here in gun .friendly Texas . Thanks again for the nice video.

Very nice. It would however, have been better if we could have seen you cleaning the trigger and bolt release components.

You mentioned the supplier of the replacement barrels for that model. Could you provide it here?

Interesting question. In the UK we have two civilian Proof Houses. One in London and one in Birmingham. Both test all firearms to be sold on a basically 30% over charge basis. Once checked they are engraved and it illegal to sell unproofed firearms, however it does present some problems with collectors who don’t want modern markings on old weapons. You can instruct the proof house to put them in less obvious places like under hand guards etc. It is a good system for safety but it does add to costs if you are trying to sell the things.

Interesting to know...so the british law is semilar to the law in germany...repaired firearms get test shooted with 30 % overload . Thank you so much for your informativ and inspiring clips.🙏 Greetings from germany 😊
