Minor correction, Jessie was not about music, it was about a babysitter

Just today PIEGUY is making Ducktales! WOO-HOO! As for my thoughts: *Original:* I remember watching this episode a lot on VHS as a kid, and even today it's a solid episode. The atmosphere around the castle was appropriately haunting, especially with the amazing soundtrack, and the mystery itself was still pretty interesting. Learning more about Scrooge's Scottish heritage was also enjoyable. As for the kids, they're okay throughout the original show, but they didn't leave as much of an impression on me as the adult characters did. *Reboot:* Again, learning about Scrooge's past is interesting, and the interactions between him and his parents was entertaining. Seeing Dewey revealing his secret to his brothers was mostly on point, though I feel they could've fleshed out Huey and Louie's reactions a bit more. Launchpad's part was also funny, but unfortunately it reminded me of my biggest issue with the first season of this show: not having enough of Donald interacting with the other characters. Besides that, this one also does a great job with the art direction, including the shadows and haunting atmosphere. Oh, and regarding Disney+, I got it a couple of days ago and its satisfying so far. I've watched the first few minutes of "Inside Out," (one of my favorite Pixar films) the pilot of "Darkwing Duck," (one of my favorite Disney TV shows) and the Mickey Mouse short, "Boat Builders" (the first Mickey short I ever saw).

Regarding Pieguy’s question around 1:19:08, Scrooge’s family history was covered in Don Rosa’s comic book serial, The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck (which is also where the first dime story originates). Basically, both of Pieguy’s points are correct. One of his ancestors lost his fortune in a bad contract deal, and another unintentionally trapped himself in the castle walls with his treasure, so no one ever found it. I agree with both of you about the new series, and this is coming from someone who usually prefers the original versions of shows and movies over the new ones. The old series was good for its time, but it was mainly interesting for Scrooge himself. This show makes the world around him a lot more interesting, while also going out of its way to have as many references as possible, not only to the original DuckTales, but also to other Disney Afternoon shows like TaleSpin. I do still think Alan Young was the better voice for Scrooge, but David Tennant has really grown into the role and is at least doing his own thing instead of trying to match the old version.

You were talking about what the Ducktales episode reminds you of and mentioned Sherlock Holmes and Scooby Doo, but from your description of it it kinda reminded me of Northwest Mansion Mystery

The third SpongeBob movie is animated by Mikros Images, who worked on the Captain Underpants Movie.

That explain the great animation.

I'm glad that you guys are finally getting around to talking about DuckTales. I like the reboot. I feel that it's one of the best examples to give on how a reboot or remake can be good if done right. However, I've been behind for a good while on episodes, and I've been struggling to catch up, so I'm glad there weren't too many spoilers in this podcast. I've seen a few episodes of the original. I thought it was all right, but I didn't have much of a connection to the show is people may have had in the days of the Disney Afternoon. The reboot is definitely better in my opinion, mostly because of how the characters are written and the development they're given, but I do have an appreciation for what the original was able to do for the time before Nicktoons and the like Lots of news this time around, but I'll try my best to keep it short. I've said in the Hey Arnold Re-Cast that The Jungle Movie would have done better if they had it on a streaming service, so the Netflix deal has some potential if Nick decides to do More stuff like what they did with Arnold Rocco and Zim. I am iffy about the Squidward project though, but outside of that, I've got no problem with the Netflix deal for the most part. I feel the same way about sponge on the Run, that I am about the Squidward project, but I like the name a little bit more Then it's a wonderful sponge. I'm also meh about the Sonic movie, but I'm definitely glad they listened to all the feedback and criticism, the new trailer definitely has me more interested in seeing the movie then The first one. The COPPA thing is concerning. Hopefully that stuff can get sorted out and we can all make it through this. Outside of that had a lot of things to be glad about in today's episode.

Here's an idea for a RE-Cast. Comparing the Ed, Edd n Eddy episodes, Your Ed Here and Smile for the Ed. Both are very similar in a way. Both about about Eddy being embarrassed through no fault of his own and Kevin keeps torturing him for no reason.

It’s nice to see a bit more people discussing about Ducktales 2017 😁. I’ve kinda been having a tricky time finding more people like that lately, for some reason 😅🤷♂️😓😅.

Webby in the reboot is great! She's a bit like Mabel but different enough to be her own unique character :)

Mabel is EVIL.

she’s a child who made mistakes and owned up to them. people blow that up way out of proportion :(

I disagree entirely cause Webby is fun to be around whereas Mabel... no.

Fair enough, I guess... A lot of people say she's way too much like Mabel but honestly, I really don't see it that much.

But did they have to resort to the "strong, kickass woman" trope? It seems that every time a "girly" character is brought back, they have to resort to pandering to the feminists. Not to mention, _Punky Brewster_ was already airing when the original _DuckTales_ came out, so there goes the "female characters weren't as complex back then" argument out the window.

A nice discussion on both these episodes 😁👍. You guys were pretty fair when it came to comparing these episodes. On a random note 📝: The reboot also borrows some cues that were exclusive to the comics Scrooge came from. I’m hoping to see you guys tackle some more episodes from both these shows again. Although the only ones I can think of worth comparing about at the moment are certain episodes involving the character Goldie 😅🤷♂️ (I may need to see a bit more of the original in my free time 😅). Nice discussion cast overall still 😁👍.

Will you do any more Every Episode of a series Reviewed that's not Spongebob? You talked about it before and you did the first season of Teen Titans Original, I'd love to see more of those type of videos! I'd understand if they take up more time though.

Did anyone else pick up some friction between SpongeBob and Patrick in the Sponge on the Run trailer? I think a plot that really tests their friendship could be very interesting.

4:10 It still is in Australia. 25:25 The original design just looked like Dash from _The Incredibles_ in a blue fur suit. 49:08 I mean, I still watch Netflix shows an episode a week, just because I watch them an night. Though it is funny that it takes me, like, 3 months to watch _Hilda_ , when most people binge-watch it repeatedly. 1:06:45 It wouldn't be the first time Goofy was a ghost in a Scrooge McDuck cartoon. 1:10:11 "As a female character" Really, Pieguy? There were female characters with personality back in the 80s - we had _Punky Brewster_ , for example. The time period has *nothing* to do with why Webby was so bland back then. Come on, Pieguy - you're better than this! You made a whole video explaining why being a social justice warrior is bad, and another complaining about Anita Sarkeesian, and yet you've been going down that path as of late. Just treat female characters like they're completely normal! Why is that so hard?
