As always a great tutorial. Thank You! Question: what software are you using for creating your height map for the cliffs? I am working with GAEA which is very powerful.

Thanks again for your kind feedback. I have created my Heightmaps with WorldCreator, trying to create diverse landscapes that would fit a multitude of needs.

Great tutorial. Have you tried True Skys?

Oh absolutely - I think I did a video on that as well :) Love it!

The free height map for this tutorial is not available. I assumed that it might be included in the heightmap pack you created and have for sell. Unfortunately, it is not included in your heightmap pack either. Is it possible to get this particular heightmap? You do awesome walkthroughs and great heightmaps, I appreciate you sharing your abilities and knowledge with blender and true terrain I have learned a lot.

Thanks for the feedback! The Gumroad link to the free Heightmap still works for me, and it is definitely part of my Heightmap Pack (Cliff6.exr). But nevermind. :) In my latest video (Ocean/Fog/Foam) I´m sharing another Heightmap with all of you and I have added the file for this video as well - hope this link works for you: drive.google.com/drive/folders/1KO5PzcprPa0gM_EqIAKA4jz_4VZHNruO?usp=sharing

Man your doing great, my problem is that mountains are very flat and subdivision to high number is not an option for me
@MrBerglmir2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your feedback, really appreciate it. Heightmaps mountains could be indefinitely high, but Blender "limits" the initial displacement strength to 100. As shown in the video I would a) Scale the initial mesh up by 100 or 150 b) Apply the scale (which turns the terrain back to flat) c) Head over to your Displacement Modifier and manually type in your scale value (100/150, or whatever you want) This should bring back your height. I agree, anything above Render Level 2 in the SubD Modifier challenges my system too ;)

@@MrBerglmir what I meant by flat is no details, height and scale are ok, but details are flat, Im using ANT not heightmaps
@MrBerglmir2 жыл бұрын
@@KhaderBandak Oh, I see! I thought you grabbed the free heightmap I provided and see a big difference in the default details. I could have explained that. :) When you use ANT, you should increase the number of subdivision X & Y to at lease 256 during creation, or do so in the "Create" N-Panel after you have created your terrain. This will immediately give you more details. Another way would be to leave the mesh as it is and use Adaptive SubD at the end of your modifier stack at the end of your creation process. Man, this is difficult to explain via text - maybe I´ll do a video on that. :)

Where do we get the foam maps?
@MrBerglmir2 жыл бұрын
As far as I remember, I bought it during a Sale on ArtStation. However, I don´t use them that much, because, they "stay in place" - they don´t animate.

@@MrBerglmir so it's best to make em? I think you had a tutorial on this or the main channel for true terrain
