Idk, I'm a Pistons fan and though it might sound like I'm being Bias, I would still draft Cade #1. Scottie Barnes had Pascal Siakam to play with and he's been there for his whole career so far. The reason he looks so good now is because he's in a system that built around his playstyle and veterans to learn from and develop his game. Cade does have that, so to see Cade going somewhere else and being in a system like Orlando, Cleveland, or Toronto with a system built around him could also warp how we see Cade today. Where you go does play a factor...

I like that you touched on the basketball aspect of Josh Giddey because people need to notice that even if the off court issues never came up that he was still on track to finding himself off this team. He cannot fit next to Shai by really any means. If possible, try to finesse a team that is still willing to bank on his potential before all the legal issues resolve themselves. And if you can trade him for another young wing who fits better at the 2 next to Shai AND he doesn’t beat the case then you’ve hit the jackpot. Just wishful thinking though.

I would put Scottie first, Cade second, Sengun third, Franz forth and Mobley fifth. Scottie is the best wing defender in this draft, both interior and perimeter defence, and he's able to do a lot on offence and even pass the ball, and has the highest ceiling. He can literally be a 22-24, 10, 7 guy in the league, an all star and an all defensive player(which he's showing). Cade is second, just because his development in detroit has not been great and has dealt with a lot of injuries, but can be probably a 25,6,8 guy shooting 38+ percent from 3. Sengun is third because he clearly can do the most out of any bigman in this class, and is one of the best offensive center's in the entire league(mini jokic btw). Franz is fourth, he's an above average defender(mainly cause he's 6'10), he can rebound well for a SF and can definitely pass the ball, but his shooting has been streaky(except for his recent games) and I think he's mainly just a fringe all star forward. Mobley is fifth, and for a few reasons. He plays the PF position as a flat footed 7 footer, and he cannot shoot. Mobley is one of the top defenders at the CENTER position in the league, because he in fact is a center. He can rebound, block shots, can pass a bit but it kinda like AD's passing, and he can obviously block shots but is not a great perimeter defender despite what people were seeing bits of in year 1 for him.

Tbh I think Cade and Mobley are too high. Mobley is just in a really good team/situation with garland and Mitchell which allows him to elevate his game + his development has been stagnant since his rookie year imo. I don’t think he’d be as good if he was on a poverty team . It’s similar to the Wemby vs Chet debate, where Chet has SGA to play off of whereas Wemby has no well established players. Most of Cade's higher averages is due to the Piston's offense being ran through him. My top five, at present, is: 1. Mobley 2. Sengun 3. Wagner T4. Green/Cunningham/Barnes Green and Cunningham are talented players, for sure, but I think their stats are inflated because they are lead guards on bad teams. Granted, Green has never been a pure point guard for the Rockets, but the offense still ran through him. If Green and Cunningham were on a team that was fighting for a playoff spot, like Cleveland, their numbers wouldn't be nearly as good. Mobley, Sengun, and Wagner have IQs and team-oriented attributes that Green, Cunningham, and Barnes haven't mastered. I think Barnes has it much more than Green and Cunningham, but he's not on their level in terms of sheer talent. With my first three, they may have less talent than Cade and Green (stats show they do), but their defense, passing, and illustrated ability to succeed within a team structure makes them stand out. As for where my team picked, I'm thrilled the Warriors got a player like Kuminga, but he's farther away from being ready than anyone anticipated. His effort comes and goes on both ends, but he has devoted more lip service to being held accountable, which gives me some hope, but he still struggles on both sides of the ball. Meanwhile, I've never understood why Moody isn't a 20 minutes per night guy right now. He has a good shot, although it isn't consistent (not many 8 minute per game players do have consistent shots for their time on the floor alone) and Moody is a long-limbed, decent perimeter defender. He gets his shots within the offensive flow and has some fight in him. In a redraft, I'd almost have the Warriors getting the same players, but having the draft position switched. It'd also help if the coach actually played players under age 27 from time to time. The 2021 NBA draft has a lot of good rotation players in it and some great value in the second round, but I think it will forever be overshadowed by 2020 and 2022.

Barnes should be #1. He’s a generational kind of talent. Mobley and Cunningham are good, but not that good. Totally disagree on that one.

Agree with the take on Cade and still drafting him at #1. He missed out his whole second season, so technically he's a sophomore right now. Furthermore, he's treated like the obvious "superstar" by every team he's playing against. So spacing is non-available since he's playing with 4-non shooters in the starting lineup in Hayes, Ausar Thompson, Duren and Stewart. My only 2 concerns are his poor handling and lazy passes sometimes, which lead to some unnessary turnovers. However he's still the number one option here and i can see bigger things in the future, if Detroit manages to utilize him the right way.
