Went to high school with Caleb and Olu and I gotta say, Olu is one of the kindest and most humble people. He is bright, funny, and would clown around with anyone. Talking to him you would have no clue he was an insane lineman, besides the obvious clues. He also didn’t play football until he got to highschool so very inspiring story. He’s gonna be sick though, so smart, stinks the position he was put in.

He’s playing fine considering he’s a rookie that’s in a man coverage scheme while pretty much being asked to be the CB1 the last few weeks. Earlier in the season was rough, but he’s improved a lot throughout the season.

C for Byron Murphy is unfair. I know the stats aren’t there but he’s essentially playing nose tackle. He’s one of the most double teamed players in the NFL but still disruptive and he’s a huge part of the reason our run defense is so much better than last year

The Caleb bias is insane. You either only watch stats or are delusional. He holds the ball 3.8 seconds on average, he has a 6 yard average pass depth, he has one of the best list of offensive weapons. His oline gets a lot of bad rep but they gave Caleb 3.8 seconds to throw the ball... Caleb threw a few ints sure... Because he doesn't throw past the sticks. Caleb is an easy C if not even a C-. Drake Maye played great for how bad the team is... Giving Maye a lower score than Caleb just makes no sense... Put Caleb on the Pats and he would not even get 1.5k yards... Bruh... Caleb averages under 40 yards outside of stat pad 4th quarter...

The Lions play man coverage more than any other team. Yes Terrion Arnold was the penalty king of 2024 but he’s better now. I remember Darius Slay’s rookie season being at games where he got torched. Terrion is on a team that ACTUALLY TEACHES and players HOLD EACH OTHER accountable. He’s known to be a shadow of his defensive coordinators always learning. He will get there. Not all are Sauce Gardner coming into their rookie seasons. He now has 1 year experience under his belt and I honestly think he’s going to be great. Especially with the best safety tandem in the league to help support him. I’m not surprised by your D+ but I see a bright future for him with the Motor City Kittys.

Another person that does analysis through Box Scores. I understand it's hard to watch all of the games for all players. I'm sympathetic, but Penix looked like an elite QB in the making. In just 3 games he was developing every bit as fast as Daniels, Nix, Maye, or Williams. 9th best PFF grade among all QBs at the position (8th really if you don't count St. Brown), 6th best PFF on pure passing. #2 in big time throws, and would have dominated the field over the course of the season. The only reason you can give him a C+ is because he only played 3 games (5 but those two garbage time games don't count too much) and that's fair, but you specifically said "he looked just okay." which tells me you graded based on box scores and not eyeballs.

Yeah a D+ for Mims is ridiculous. He’s been much better than a D+. He’s had multiple good games. You can’t solely look at pff grades. His grade is consistently low cause his run blocking isn’t that good but his pass blocking has been pretty good (for a rookie). You could ask any single bengals fan (casual or not) and they would say that Amarius Mims has been much better than a D+. Also most of the oline was not disappointing. Orlando Brown Jr was one of the best pass protecting tackles before he got hurt this year and same thing goes for Ted Karras. The two guards were the only bad part.

Plus he steadily got better and better as the season went on too. Like for most of the season (if my memory is correct) he hovered around a 60 PFF grade but for the last few games he played in he stayed around a 70-75 pff grade. A 60 grade is average btw (it’s not like school grades)

People are WAY too generous to Williams and blaming everything BUT Williams for Chicago’s mistakes, some of which are true, but most of them are because they couldn’t predict how bad Williams is and they’re just coping. Jaden Daniels: A+ Obviously. Drake Maye: B+ He’s making games close on a bad team meanwhile Williams is throwing games on a good team. Micheal Penix Jr: D I really don’t care for this guy, he beat the Giants and blew to the Commanders, NOTHING SPECIAL. J.J McCarthy: N/A We can’t give him a rating. Bo Nix: A- Nix’s only issue is that he started slow and I’d written off Denver imeadiately because Denver has NO weapons, BUT HE MADE IT WORK.
