Depends on if the Nets actually draft anyone and develop anyone good. They should have a lot of fucking chances tho to do exactly what the Thunder did. Have infinite draft picks and actually make something outta them. They for sure can get some picks for Cam Thomas and for sure can get something for Claxton and Finney Smith. Keep Ben on the roster, you need to be at the cap floor he helps alot in making it there then become a team that can be involved in any 3 team trade and take on bad salary on short deals till you got im thinking like the Melton trade where dude is hurt and out the yr on a 12 mil salary...take on those to be at the floor keep being bad max out your picks and if any vet starts over performing ship em out for whatever u can get till your young core is ready.
@WHITEPERSUAS1ON
@WHITEPERSUAS1ON Ай бұрын
@@dustinsirios3144 While true it was easier for the the thunder because of the cap floor. They could just hold open cap soace and take on every bad contract. So unfair

correction on the kd part: the suns did win a playoff series with kd, but the clippers' best players who played more than 2 games were ivica zubac and 35 year old russell westbrook, so it doesn't really count.

@@urbaindelva7869as a Celtics fan Horford will retire in the next two years. Porzingis’s health is a concern in the future and the Celtics need to keep an eye out for under the radar big man pickups or prospects. I was hesitant letting Robert Williams go but with his injury history I saw the potential benefit.

I'm sorry, but the KD trade is an A++++++. I don't understand your logic. Sometimes teams have to trade a star player. What should matter when assessing the trade is what you get for them, not what led up to the trade. And they got more for KD than perhaps any team in NBA history has gotten for a star player.

I agree with this. Dude forgot the fact that Nets literally acquired KD with NOTHING in exchange via free agency. Acquiring a free agent star then trading him at his above average peak and getting good draft compensation would always result to an A+

I don't understand your reasoning with the KD trade. Now suddenly picks aren't that valuable? Then why do slam teams for "over paying" for anyone? Like the Timberwolves Gobert trade? Use that exact same logic, the Jazz might just get a bunch of role players, right? So A+ T-Wolves trade. That type of thinking would mean "over paying" with picks just isn't a thing anymore.

Suns destroyed their future for a past-his prime consistently injured KD. Their big 3 look awkward playing together and have no real synergy because they're all the same player at different heights, just iso heavy shot creators. Trading for Beal after KD is especially bad. The fact they have no cap space and no picks for the foreseeable future means they're stuck with this time unless they find someone dumb enough to take on Beal's contract. All in all, a bad trade, since they probably won't get past conference semifinals with this team but don't have the ability to get much better.

Love listening Tucker but sometimes I feel you find it a struggle to stay impartial on the Nets both when they've done well and when they haven't done so well (with good reason its hard to do that with our own teams) The Nets for Kyrie trade has to be a lower grade now on a re-grade then a B as they got very little value for Kyrie but on the other hand they got fantastic value for Durant who while still amazing when on the floor statistically isn't helping the suns to a championship and the amount of picks they have got back for him that are trending towards high lottery means it has to at the very worst a A but surely an A+. Love the content as always keep it up

Hey Tuck, consider these two scenarios : 1) The Nets have 12 FRPs. 2) If the Nets still had Durant, they’d have the same Durant Phoenix has now, the one that can’t stay healthy. AND I don’t think that ever changes for him, for the rest of his career. Too much age. The Nets made a great deal! Quite frankly, at the time, I was surprised anyone would give up that kind of compensation for him, when he could fall off a cliff at any time. Best ability is availability.

Actually you dont want to be the team getting a kevin durant in a trade, you want to be the team signing kevin durant in free agency. Even if the Nets just get role players with all those picks they still profited from the trade since it didnt cost them anything besides capspace to get KD in the first place.

@TrueGuardify Yeah, got traded for 2 role player rotation guys and like a pick I think. I mean Robert Williams is good. Malcom brogdan was just a value guy more than anything. Someone willing to take like $4 million when they provide $8 million of shooting and ball handling. And 1 pick was not theirs and the other was not really that far out. Still possible they're a solid team and the pick is almost meaningless

“trading away Kevin Durant regardless of the mountain of future first round picks” is such ridiculous logic. Look at OKC trading away Paul George. I hear alot how people just act like the celtics got them for nothing when in reality the celtics lack of depth outside pritchard and having no center that plays basketball is a result of the trade

Buck deserve a D. I wouldn't trade Jrue Holiday for Damian Lillard straight up. Jrue is a two way player, consistent floor general, and now 2 time champion with an A+ character in the locker room. We so highly over value offense. Lillard is a turnstile on D. Lillard, and most offense only players are way overrated in this league. There is a reason the Blazers couldn't win with prime DameTime lighting it up. There are very few NBA champions with one way stars.

The main problem is that Beal is not worth his contract. The nets clearly would’ve won a championship if healthy, so a big three still works in today’s NBA. If the suns could’ve had Jimmy Butler instead of Beal they would have won a championship.
