Grew up in a household where anger was not allowed. My spouse grew up in a house where anger was constant. How do we learn how to communicate about anger in a way that is healthy? What does healthy anger look like?

Good question. Try watching more videos by Dr Webb. The only solutions I am aware of are somatic therapies, inner child work, journalling and above all, meditation. They are all to help get reconnected to the lost true self. There is another diagnosis - C-PTSD - which also fits me. That has a lot of symptoms, such as trouble regulating feelings... meditation and journalling are recommended for that. Many people have addictions to distract from the distress. Look up ''Core Beliefs'' to find out what the common problems are, deep inside. Morty and Shelley Lefkoe have very good lists of them and say they can help eliminate the unhelpful ones rapidly. Then there's ''reframing'', which turns a negative view of a situation into a positive interpretation instead. That can give you hope.
