It's not that Mark didn't like Basilisx, but that his presence overshadowed the main villians too much for a character that ultimately would not have nearly as much significance to the overarching plot. He said back when the ep. 1 reboot was released that Basilisx would be cut from the Metallix reboot for that reason, but if there are still plans for a Smithy saga after Metallix is defeated then Basilisx might be a better addition there. Let's just hope the new series can make it that far though...

Maximillian Ottoman During the original run of SMBZ, people did not know the meaning of burnout. Plus most watchers were younger at the time and always pressured Mark into hurrying up. This caused him to collapse and give up on the series. Four years ago, he attempted to come back to reboot the series, but Nintendo copyrighted him for using ads. They even shut down his patreon. Now, his motivation is back and his patreon is targeted towards himself rather than SMBZ so they have no legal right to shut it down.

Idea: What if the dark spike koopa (idk the name) makes small appearances as a rookie in training for bowser so throughout the series’s he would be like a background character when bowsers sends his minion out to fight Mario and gang eventually he loses so many times he seeks to become stronger than the rest and makes his journey to learning the powers he has until eventually he gets the skills he needs and then proves to bowser than he can be a leader/general and is then sent to fight the Mario gang!?
