"As a bookend to Re- Triptych is Re- (Part III), inspired by my travels during the summer of 2007, where I spent forty days on China's Silk Road -- from Beijing to Xi'an, west to Dunhuang into Xinjiang, as far as Turpan and Kashgar, from ancient oases to kingdoms along the edge of the Taklamakan Desert. Some months later, I returned to a transformed Beijing. My experience visiting this modernized city drew me into a conversation with my life back in New York, where I had been living for the past 14 years." -Shen Wei
