That's great Torsion. I'm the chap he has done this for - yes, it's for a cuckoo clock, which will need 12 bushes! I'm so pleased with this - and even more so as it took some extra work to make that steady to support it at the pinion. It is really interesting to watch as it is my part. Thanks Torsion.😀

Wow! Someone loved their cuckoo clock and ran it a long time!

Excellent video, very interesting to someone like me, who has never attempted to fit a new pivot to a pinion. I think i have some steadys like yours that fit into the flipover toolrest, but i never knew what they were for. I know now, and as you say, it would be easy to make one to suit the diameter of pinion in question. Thanks for filming this.

@@colindrakes4607 Thanks Colin the good thing about the shop made steady is it’s not just a one time use because the hole can be made larger and bushed to make smaller.

Thank you for all your videos! The time it takes to record and edit before posting is always overlooked!

It is always good practise when replacing pivots to have them match in length to the original.

@@oldTimer-x3r fair comment although in an ideal world I would have liked the plate but to be fair it was done for nothing.

Don't worry I will reduce the length , I should have told Torsion the thickness of the plates.
