I would have deleted the whole interior on the base floor and redone it, also put a second floor with the kids and teens room (at least they'd have windows 😂) and the basement just for the extra livingroom/hobbies.

My most functional builds have walled in toilets and showers! Some are even mansions. Irl I wish we had that in our basement when I was a kid. 6 people and one bathroom is no bueno!

Is putting the stairs in their own room a stylistic choice or do you have to do that to make the stairs usable? Like can’t you just put railings around the stairs? It just seems a bit claustrophobic.

OMG I'm so excited! Even though you finally figured it out yourself, I'm still taking credit for the suggestion... stalls in a bathroom! It's a game changer! No more embarrassment and toilets for everyone! Yay! Don't forget to have your children upgrade your toilets and sinks before you move them out. That way everyone's hygiene will be high. Very little cleaning and fixing will be needed as well.

This build gave me anxiety. 😅 You totally extended the backyard. I shouted "Yes, you did" when you said you did not. You just literally did it a min before the game messed up. So funny. 😂 I kinda liked the first stairs more because I wanted to put more clutters under it since its a basement and people usually put things that they don't use in the basement. But it is what it is. Hahaha And also just curious. Is there really such thing as a "stair room" ? It just feels weird to me. It looks so crowded with all the walls and doors. But other than that, I enjoyed the mixed emotions I felt while watching it. More builds, Kelsey! ♥️

I've seen lots of houses with 'stair rooms' if you were wondering, they do feel a little weird, but most of them have plenty of windows, and often lots of family photos in a little gallery thingy.

I have a very similar bathroom but what I do is lock the room with the tub until I need to bathe a tot. That way the rest of my sims don't use the bath to meet ALL of their needs like hygiene, fun, and freaking energy. Sims sleeping in the bath makes me see red.

Just wanted to let you know for your teens. There’s an assignment they can do on the computer for a test. They have every Thursday with the back to school Sim stuff that came out. Where do you take your teens to school? There’s like a study thing on the computer, they don’t have to be on the computer, but they can do it if you click on their Sims and you click study and then it actually helps him get a good grade on the test for Friday so then you can age up your teens into adults young adults

Ohyea kelsey idk if you know; But you know how when you select a whole room, you get that lil symbol of the square n two up n down arrows? Use that in the basement to pull it down away from the house, so it doesnt peek out of the ground n mess with things It'll make the stairs longer but you wont see the roof peek out

I'm only on the ladder bit, you can press ctrl on the top layer to toggle it underneath Plus, using stairs - you need it to not intersect with walls above, so like, just rotate it a bit

I needed to know how to make a basement. I have never tried. I wish I was home when this was filmed…. I was talking to the video saying rotate to have the stair open to the main room, so they did mess up the bedroom doors. I was screaming no don’t take away the bathroom and make them go downstairs to potty all the time. I was hoping she would extend the family room out a square or two and put the stairs there and they could have a bathroom up and downstairs…. And without messing up doors. Sadly, I can watch live and assuming it is around lunch time bc she is always eating so bowl that sounds delicious and makes me want to eat bc she is eating by just watching. 😢😊 can’t wait to see the finished house, I had to post about my first talking to a video hoping someone had the same idea to help you.
