@George Duffy you're speaking my language . I've been trying to get Jamel to play cowgirl in the sand, down by the river, on the beach, hurricane, ramada inn .. the really great guitar songs with multiple long solo bridges. i love Neil's commercial stuff too especially rocking in the free world and too many to mention. but I want Jamel to really see what Niel can do with a guitar. he's gonna have a revelation . a new favorite . Young has been as inspirational to music, musicians as the Beatles imo. I saw Young at The Greek Theater for Greendale, actors lip synced and acted out the characters on different revolving stages per song as Young and Crazy Horse played in a lower stage in very low light, played the whole album, then we took an intermission and they came out and played their previous stuff for over 2 hours. It's a small theater with great acoustics so it was quaint. One of the best shows I've ever seen. Young is charismatic live, and he improvs extended guitar bridges that are epic.

The Chain was the signature tune to the BBC’s coverage of Formula One motor racing back in the 1980’s and 1990’s.

There are few albums that I loved EVERY cut off of them; "Rumours" is one of the few.

The part where you said it’s familiar sounds like the “Barney Miller” theme, even before you pointed out that it was familiar.

McVie bass is so distinct! And, yea, it kinda reminds me of the intro too.

I suspect Jamel has never seen “Barney Miller.” He was born in 1980. Probably not even in reruns, but I guess it’s possible.

When I first heard this song when I was in grade school, every time I heard this song I thought this was where Barney Miller got their theme song from.

The tail end of the chain has been used for years to introduce the F1 motor racing on the BBC !

I was 11 when "Rumors" came out and was played all over the radio in the Summer of 1977. "Rumors" is great from start to finish. What I can remember the most about "The Chain" was riding in the back seat of my brothers '72 Pinto on the way to the Jersey Shore with the waft of freedom and weed in the air. I thought I was so grown up riding with him and his new wife and jamming out. God, please when I die can I relive those happy times again. The bass line is reminiscent of the "Barney Miller" theme song. The band I worked for in the 80s the bassist taught me how to play the bass solo in this song.

The main critique of that song, is that it is way too short.
