Yeah... we would have to go back to a time of relative innocence, wouldn't we? So much has happened, it makes me weep. At least because of this forum and others, we can STILL GO THERE and enjoy. I feel bad for kids now. What will they look back on? Hateful lyrics? EXPLICIT sexual references? Sad

aida, I am stuck on this Philadelphia doowop forever. It keeps my heart beating fast from either sad or grand memories. Today, all of the memories are better than grand even with the sad parts....I was invited to appear at the AFEES in Philadelphia two times, and neither visit was pleasant. My best memory of Philadelphia was reporting to 4th and Arch(?) to get aboard the train that took me to Parris Island, South Carolina.

A criminally underrated but fabulous group out of Philly. Great harmonies, melodies and rhythms on everything they did starting with Love My Baby in 1953. One of my very favorite groups throughout the years.

Absolutely! First thing I heard them do was Dead Man's Stroll (which apparently was later renamed to Midnight Stroll due to some weird complaints regarding the dead?). I was about 10 and was already totally hooked on Doo-Wop and crazy about the Revels! My friends thought I was nuts. HA HA! They were right!!!! Thanks for the great post!
