Having both the RE20 and RE27, I must confess that they both are amazing mics with the RE27 getting most of the work. Ironically, I also have a Mackie EM99B in my closet and I just cannot part with it nor will I ever bring myself to sell it. It's like my security blanket that I just like knowing is still around. It's a great mic. My fourth mic that I also keep around is the Line Audio CM4 (built/ hand tuned in Sweden). It's the tiny mic that is just beyond words!!! Hand tuned by an older gentleman in Sweden. It takes a while to get it to the states but worth every dollar.

I think they all sound great! But I can't decide if I like the RE20 or the SE4100 better. Luckily I have an SE4100. I definitely want to get my hands on some of these to see which I like best! This was a great vid man! Lots of good information in this! BTW... loved the flubs!

You've got extraordinary taste in microphones my friend. I started using the RE20 back in 1976 at KEZY 1190 AM in Anaheim, CA. The station was located about 2-3 miles from Disneyland. It was, and still is, my favorite mic to this day. I currently own a RE27 N/D which is the upgraded version of the RE20 with a better dynamic range, high and low pass filters, and a presence boost. The RE27 was gifted to me, so I can't complain, it's an amazing mic, but the RE20 holds a special place in my heart **tear comes to eye** LOL. I noticed that you also own the Shure MV7 and the Fifine K669D....also excellent mics. Outstanding and funny review bro. Great job. I'm glad I was able to meet you. Peace!

You have a great voice for radio! That’s for sure! It is great connecting… I also have a serious issue with Gear Acquisition Syndrome!!! The RE20 is my favorite Dynamic, and my Earthworks Ethos is my favorite Condenser, and K669D my favorite budget mic. I have 7 of them for any livestreams I do with multiple guest in the same room. 👍🏻 love them. Glad our paths crossed my friend!

I own about 40 mics dating back to 1979, and that doesn't even include all the camera gear I have from my old video production company. Yes, I have a problem LOL The RE20 is definitely the best choice as a favorite microphone. I agree with you. Great choice. I don't own a Earthworks ETHOS, but they are a cool mic. I love how they're an end-address design. The K669D was my favorite budget mic forever until I met the Zoom ZDM-1. Broadcast quality sound at a budget price. But damn, you own seven K669D's. Cool! The current SM7B, especially those made in China, will never be the same as those made many years ago. It's a waste of money. Not so long ago I did a comparison of SM7B. One was made 10 years ago and the other in 2022 and both sounded completely different. Of course, the older one sounded better. Probably Shure stopped caring about the quality of their products or they use lower quality components for production.
