Reach Out And Touch Someone: The lost discipline and blessing of hospitality

Instead of new year's resolutions, we are focusing on instilling habits of spiritual discipline that flow from the natural rhythms of our lives. We'll have already spoken on Bible reading, studying, and memorizing, prayer, service, and worship. Today we consider the mandate (yes, mandate) of hospitality.
We learn that hospitality is not even on the same plane as entertainment. It's simply sharing what God has given you with others. Simple, yes, but even more important, it's an action that stems from an attitude of thanksgiving which generates affection for others.
