Make no mistake about it, Maguire deserves praise for how he has turned his fortunes around. This took determination. We all saw him take a personal trainer during the preseason. However he is still not good enough for Manchester United and how ETH wants the team to play.

@@rickoneillable with a high defensive line, Rick. In a way that we constantly press and put pressure on thr rival team. This is why with Martinez and Varane we played very well last season. Maguire is painfully slow slow and makes expensive errors. He'd be a great player for a team that sits deep and keeps a low block. But not the Manchester United Erik yen Hag is trying to bring about.

I'm not going to lie. I wanted him out of the club, I genuinely believed he wasn't good enough. Certainly not worth 80M. (not his fault) he is realistically worth 35-40m. But I will raise my hand, and tell him that he is the strongest human being ive ever seen. The abuse he received is unspeakable. Stayed strong and never broke down. Seeing him play well and score goals for the club makes me happy, regardless if i think he belongs with us or not. We need people like harry maguire. Maybe not in the starting 11 every week, but someone to do a job when called upon... good luck Harry
