Y A Y !!!! Kevin’s music is something I listen to a lot on a daily basis. He so intelligent, passionate and talented! He’s working on an EP right now, he made one a couple years back, it’s mostly just celloboxing (cello and beatboxing),no singing. You can really feel his passion and happiness when he sings, it’s so amazing to see/hear! Also, I’ll be thinking of some questions to ask for the q&a and the crime scenes thing sounds SO COOL!

Well, we did say KO was AMAZING. 'Down' is good, but heck, everything by Kevin is amazing. Our favorite beatboxer, singer, player of a plethora of instruments, Chinese speaking, Yale pre-med... I don't know if there's anything he can't do.

He does also play the saxophone. If you want to see more of his cello playing ability his cover of "Down" does display that more. (You don't even have to do a reaction video of it if you don't want to, but please check the video out. Although I would love to see the reaction.) I agree with you that amount of talent this one guy has is incredible. I always joke that the amount of talent he has pisses me off a little bit. Kind of like "you know God you could spread out some of this talent and not just put it into one person." ;)

Kevin Olusola is an egima. And he's so humble! He's been taking voice lessons over the years and I know on their "on my way home" tour {Documentary is cool! Available on Netflix, as well as "PTXperience". The latter comes 1st..🙃}. I know Mitch was giving him lessons at one point.. Kevin thought he was less talented than the rest of the group (his words) because he couldn't sing like they could. Can you believe he thought he wasn't as talented as them?! I couldn't believe it when he said that! Well. He sure can sing now! Some of the harmonies they've been able to make with 5 voices!? Omgosh! You would have heard just a sampling of that in your reaction to "Imagine".

WOW! What a valentine's gift I got. Came home and I get your reaction to Kevin. He plays one more instrument the saxaphone. He played at the legendary Carnagie Hall in New York when he was just 17. I don't remember the link but if you want to check it out it is somewhere on his page. Anyway, I am so glad you enjoyed his version as well as his voice. Hope you will do more

as a follow up his acoustic cello is named Beyonce and the electric one is named Mr. Carter after JZ. Also it is important to note that he really did not start singing until after he became a member of PTX where AVI ran an acapella academy snd the other 3 have been sing together since they were 10 years old

All that, AND he plays sax to concert level (solo'ed at Carnegie Hall as a high-schooler broadcast on a PBS special), speaks fluent Mandarin like a native, and has a pre-med degree from Yale. If you look up "overachiever" in Wikipedia there ought to be Kevin's smiling face staring at you.

He hasn't broken out his saxophone for any of his recent recordings. I'm hoping that he'll add a sax track on a future recording. There is a video of him playing saxophone as a 17 year old at Carnegie Hall for a PBS show entitled "From the Top". kzbin.info/www/bejne/mZiQiISiaL52jLs (It's a duet with the host of the show, who is a concert pianist) He describes beatboxing as "a hobby" and provides a brief sample. This was six years before Pentatonix existed, so he had time to refine his techniques before "The Sing-Off".

Like a lot of great groups, Pentatonix was so good because every member could have had a solo career. The fact that they stayed together for so long was kind of surprising to me, but they had a real love for each other, so I guess that makes sense. As to your other videos, I'll give them a chance, but I'm pretty selective about what I watch, so I can't guarantee anything. One thing I've learned in my fairly long life, though, is that your chance of success in any endeavor is proportional to how much you love what you're doing, so one of the first things is to ensure that you're enjoying doing this, otherwise it becomes a chore and that will show through in the videos, so go for it.

I guess we have something else in common, in addition to being Pentaholics that is. That commonality would be the Criminal Justice System (American version for me). I have 26 years experience as an officer, supervisor and administrator and also spent 4 years teaching at a police academy and I would be very interested in comparing notes, as it were. Yes, I would like to. I have plenty of free time and can't think of a better way to spend it. During one of my academy classes I exposed the students to Sir Robert Peel's "Principals of Policing" as an example of how police work should be done. That might be an interesting topic for discussion if you like.
