Nah because Marianne didn't need to switch their positions. Alyssa loved her so much that she will gladly try and make sure she'll be accepted. Maybe after their siblings sees how "lovable" Marianne to their beloved Alyssa, they will also try accepting her if Alyssa demand it. No need for brainwashing. In the end, Marianne lost the only person who loved her truly and unconditionally.

They wouldn't accept Marianne, she's an illegitimate child, born from low status that even the maids talked shit about her similar to the beginning of the story, Even before she likely held hatred for Alyssa, everyone looked down at her from the beginning. They only tolerated Marianne because Alyssa loved her, and when they interacted, they ignored or disregarded her presence. Which fuled the flame and envy of hatred that swelled up inside and Alyssa was a mocking prime example of what Marianne wanted. A family who loved her and Alyssa was the rival, they only seemed to love her. Marianne is a prime example of a young child who was gonna have a downfall from the start, she was born from a rotten father and shitty family besides Alyssa, looked down upon, and disregarded as dirt for being a bastard child, that she held no power over. Her actions will never excuse the evil doings she does but they were fueled by the people around her and it seemed almost as if Alyssa was mocking her when she was the only sibling who never treated her differently. And in the end, Marianne's own selfishness and evil doings made will catch up to her, as nothing cannot go unpunished.
