The game is called VBS2. It could be called an advanced simulation version of ARMA2. The commercial version will run you around 500 $ and frankly, unless you are in the military there is little point in purchasing.

So plt support fire the enamy is small and has a position within effective range with tons of cover all around abd has a advantage being abke to break contact easily if they had to while this plt has no such advantage the front fireteam could get there asses roasted if they tryed to break contact the besr move is to bring up a auto gunner have the 2 back fire teams secure the right flanks tree line allowing the front fire team to regain fire supperoty and force there enamy to ether reposition or retreat entirely. Any one got any other viable ideas?

If soldiers are well trained in defense. It's possible to hold against a very large force. General Patton said "always be on the offensive, never allow the enemy to dig in" General Patton didn't say this for nothing. Does laying down in an open field really protect you from getting shot? How hard is it for someone to shoot a target if they get sight on them? Would it be better to run for cover or drop then crawl prone to cover?

Depends. But yes going prone makes you a very small target. Try shooting a camo soccer ball at 200 meters behind grass and you have a good idea of how hard it is to hit someone who's prone

Prone and suppress. Automatic riflement supress enemy. Grenediers use high explosive dual purpose to destory enemy crew served weapons and can smoke the enemy position. In a hypothetical situation if a squad with 2 fireteams is ambushed the automatic rifleman would supress. Grenediers would destroy crew served weapons then smoke. If its a close ambush sl could say bravo supress and charley team flank left. Sl should also give a report of contact

Setup support by fire then have bravo team fall back, flank New York and get on line to push objective. Alpha and gunner team shift then lift fire. Bravo sweeps objective followed by alpha. Lace report and epw followed by extraction time now.
