Lovebites (stylized as LOVEBITES) is a Japanese power metal band, formed in 2016 by former Destrose members Miho and Haruna. Its lineup currently consists of Haruna on drums, Midori and Miyako on guitar, Asami on vocals, and Fami on bass. After signing to Victor Entertainment, the group released both their debut EP and their first album in 2017, The Lovebites EP and Awakening from Abyss, before performing their first overseas concerts at the end of the year. With another EP and album released in 2018, Battle Against Damnation and Clockwork Immortality, Lovebites quickly garnered international attention and won that year's Metal Hammer Golden Gods Award for Best New Band. Following the releases of Electric Pentagram (2020) and Glory, Glory, to the World (2021), bassist Miho left the band in August 2021. After a year-long hiatus, Lovebites recruited Fami on bass and released Judgement Day, their fourth album, in February 2023. It is their highest-charting record to date, reaching number 5 on both the Oricon and Billboard Japan charts.

There is a video with Lovebites guitarists (Midori and Miyako) jamming with Marty Friedman. Midori and Miyako discuss their favorite guitarists. Marty knows all of them (of course) and drops a trivia about them

It's true that Miyako and Midori are fantastic guitarists. It's hard to believe that they only discovered the guitar 🎸 when they were 18. Unbelievable!

They did this song during the Pandemic, It’s a message to the world, we’re going to make it through, Midori wrote the music inspired by gospel church music.!!!! LOVE TO LOVEBITES!!!!

Note that even though this track has some religious symbolism, Lovebites is not a religious band. When Midori (blonde lead guitarist) was in the US, she visited a few churches to listen to Gospel music and she liked it. She then decided to co-write this song with some Gospel music influences. It just so happened when they released this song, it was also during the height of the pandemic, and Asami (lead vocalist) mentioned in an interview that "Glory to the World" is the band's gift of hope to the world at a very dark time.

I like your voice, heavy but soft, cool, Marty Friedman, lived in Japan, he knew Midori and Miyako, you can check on Rock Fujiyama, when Marty interview both of them, thank you reacting Lovebites, great comment, carry on 👍👍

The song was written while the world was on lockdown. And the lyrics were written by vocalist Asami with the hope that people around the world, who have suffered from the pandemic and lost hope for tomorrow, will get their lives back to normal as soon as possible.

Regarding the music video this time, a man who was wandering in the abyss of despair in his life finally found that shining place, and a heart of hope sprouted in him (a change appears in his expression) ... In other words, life may have visualized the message of repeating it.

It does quote a song, not a hymn but the song "The Greatest Love of All" covered by George Benson and Whitney Houston. Asami was probably familiar with it from her time as a R&B singer, before she joined Lovebites. "Learning to love yourself is the greatest love of all"
