While Young Dumb Stupid sounds like conforming to the GP expectations, it subverts them. The message, not so subtly, is: we're newbies, we will do mistakes, but they're _our_ mistakes to make; stop telling us what we should be doing, and let us enjoy our group's childhood. Then there is the incorporation of Frere Jacques, which a lot of people hated, but... do people hate being childish (in the best possible way) that much? Yes, LMLT is the first title track after Jinni/Jini left. YDS was a pre-release track on the same album. Also, look up the video called "NMIXX members reaction when LILY dropped a HUGE comeback spoiler". It is just one minute long, and it is absolutely hilarious. "Hey you bastards, I'm still here" is a quote from the movie Papillon, based on the autobiography of the titular character. Papillon is wrongfully sentenced to a hellish prison island, but despite the efforts of his jailers, he never gets broken, never stops trying to escape. The final scene of the movie is Papillon on a makeshift raft, surrounded by the ocean, survival unknown but finally free, yelling out his defiance with that quote. Spoiler: he does make it to the land, and lives out the rest of his life as a free man. The Dash MV is based around the concept of prison break, metaphorically again linking it to the group being told what to do by the society, and them refusing the mainstream and embracing the weird. They shout out their defiance to the people who predicted their downfall in the industry. Fe₃O₄ is the chemical formula of black iron oxide, also known as magnetite. NMIXX clarified that using it in the album name is intended to show their magnetic charms that will attract the fans; the second part of the album title to show the resolve to break any stereotypes and obstacles that the society aims to impose at them. MVs are fun, but you really should see the recently-released "엔믹스 (NMIXX) : Tiny Desk Korea". all the stage practices (not dance practices, the difference is important) and all the a capella (or voice only) highlight medleys. They started doing the stage practices and a capella highlight medleys a couple of albums back, and they have been a much-awaited part of every NMIXX album release since. As for the Tiny Desk performance, I saw it highly praised by an live sound engineer somewhere, saying that what they did there is bonkers for an idol group, and they are not aware anyone else has attempted it: singing live in front of the audience, with live music, significantly rearranged from their recorded versions, with no in-ear monitors, with the band right behind them going full-blast, with super sensitive microphones that pick up even the sound of their mouths opening, in a single take, with zero effects on the mike, and zero postprocessing. Even shows that advertise as being live (e.g. "It's Live") do do postprocessing, let singers have in-ear monitors, and have the band a dozen metres behind the singers. They end their mini-essay with "I honestly don't know how anyone could design a live stage that was more difficult for an idol group". They are also regulars on Lee Mujin Service, which summons the best vocalists from the industry. They just go in age order. Five out of six have appeared on the show, and everyone fully expects Kyujin to show up there too. If you get sucked in, check out their covers and individual performances as well. For example, if you guys like Blackpink, you will love their Kill This Love cover - and if you _don't_ like Blackpink, you will _totally_ love their Kill This Love cover. Or, or, or, look at Kyujin's cover of Rosé's On The Ground. Kyujin, their main dancer and lead rapper maknae.

Nswer here! I only found out about Nmixx about a year ago so I’m fairly new and I don’t have a full grasp of their lore but I do know that the theme of dreaming/waking up and the ocean is sewn throughout the lore. Apparently they were taking a ship to get to Mixxtopia and got shipwrecked. Mixxtopia being a place where diversity and being different is greatly accepted. Something called monopole (represented by the color green) is continuously trying to stop them from getting there. Their newer music having themes of pushing forward through barriers: Dash, Run For Roses, Break the Wall, Red Light Sign But We Go. I think anytime they are sleeping they get glimpses of Mixxtopia (the cloud world/pink world). In the start of LMLT they are waking up. The title of one of their EPs being Midsummer Nmixx’s Dream. Soñar meaning to dream. So yeah, there are plenty of dream references as well. They have recently dropped some story videos called Outsiders Club which are still confusing, but you get the idea that they are acknowledging their “weirdness” in this music industry and are choosing to embrace it. Byeol, Byeol, Byeol (See That) has a double meaning in Korean. It means star or weird depending on the context. They say yeah, everyone thinks we are weirdos but we are actually stars. Anyways, I’ve gone on longer than I thought I would. Hope this helps a bit.
