I do think the signals he was referring to was the fact that despite her usual disdain for everybody else, she actively engages with him and seeks him out . At least compared to everybody else. So I don't think he meant exclusively signals of love, but rather of interest. For example with Xavier she only talks to him when he talks to her, otherwise she wouldn't even bother. Compared to everybody else who she is actually interested in, she would approach you herself if she cares.

Ajax accidentally stoning himself, and in the second episode, there was Yoko's allergic reaction to somebody slipping garlic into her lunch and Ms. Weems's shapeshifting demonstrates that they are showing some of the "outcast" differences in the show, they are just not the focus.

@@beesmith5379 it seems obvious to me that he was trying to gaslight her. she has been 100% using him quite to this point and its quite overt. yes she goes to him but its always been "i need a ride so that i can leave this school," "where is the old meeting house," etc. not only that once she has extracted what she wanted she immediately leaves. Not only that, she clearly tells tyler that she isn't interested in the dance nor did she want to go to it with xavier. so him getting upset with her over it is nonsenical. it is clearly manipulation even without knowing anything about what happens in the rest of the series

I like Bianca because she isn't the typical bully. She is a bit mean. But she doesn't go out of her way to target Inid or Wednesday. It's not really targeted and she only bites back when Wednesday instigates or engages first. The boat was just to win, Wednesday challenged Bianca in fencing first and suggested military challenge, Wednesday broke into her club, Wednesday interjected in her answer in class, etc. So Bianca can be mean buy usually she isn't going after Wednesday, just living her life when Wednesday interjects and makes her defensive.

The dance scene was totally Jenna's doing,they never told her what to do but she looked up old gothic style dancing and such and that's where the dance came from totally improved but she also put some moves in there from the Wednesday in the 1964 tv show as well.

Favorite episode. It had the best humor and the opening was great and my heart is so happy for Enid. Lol self-stoning I love it. Hmm... I think it was the psychiatrist. Although her dress wasn't anything super special, really loved the Yoko's look for the dance. she really changed her appearance for the dance. especially the curly hair you wouldn't even know its her. though i think that the best outfit really shoudl go to Devina. she had a bit of the siren scales to her dress like bianca does, but also a vest and that puffy sleeves and tie. so looked quite attractive in it. she also kinda looks like katie mcgrath a little bit in the one scene we are able to see of her in this.

It is possible the club was disbanded and reformed. Also Thornhill said that she was new and the faculty didn't trust her so technically it was possible she wasn't informed.

I had my best time at school dances when I went with a group of friends. Less pressure, more fun. What I like about how this show handles the outcasts is that the kids' powers are incidental to just being teenagers, but still affect their lives deeply. First, just because they have powers, there's tension with the normies. Then you get into specifics. Xavier can get hurt when his artwork comes to life (regardless of whether he's up to anything else and despite the fact his artwork can be reduced to the materials it's made of, as Wednesday demonstrated early on). Bianca's boyfriend dumped her because her gift makes her inherently untrustworthy; at any moment she could decide to manipulate someone to her own ends, and it's implied she can do it accidentally. That vampire girl has severe allergies to garlic. Ajax and gorgons like him always have to wear a hat. Wednesday has to watch whatever she touches (I wonder if she'll start wearing gloves in future seasons). And Enid is an outcast among outcasts until she has her first transformation into a were and is worried about how being unable to transform is going to impact her future social life, including romantic prospects. But the powers still don't define the characters. They have interests and personalities beyond what they can do. Re: Bianca, I like her too. At first, she seems like a cookie-cutter mean girl, but as the show progresses, you see she's driven and no-nonsense but essentially honorable. She's not a bad person. She is a good student and an excellent leader, and I hope Wednesday becomes better friends with her in future seasons. Re: Wednesday not caring-I disagree. She is socially awkward. She does know what she wants and refuse to bend to the way people think she should do things (except when Thing sets her up and she actually does kind of like a boy; gotta love that hypocrisy). But Wednesday is actually super sweet beneath the acid quips and stone face. She is fiercely protective of her brother and her friends. She is doing all this because she is terrified she will destroy her school. She takes time to be kind (in her brusque, awkward way) to Enid and Bianca and Eugene and Tyler in moments of vulnerability. She may not care what people think of her choices, but she does care how they feel, and pretty deeply.

Wednesday, still getting the best lines. Some of the teen drama is really working for me, the regretting actions in the past or not knowing if peoples feelings are genuine because you're a siren. Other drama is really taking me out of it, I accidentally stoned myself so I'm just not going to talk to the girl at all? There's not way it's that uncommon, and you'd make something up at least, not go days without speaking. I love how he tried to sabatoge it by telling her about the mural, but that probably only improved the relationship lol. Bianca is becoming the most interesting character. The more they try to build tension with the principle, having liked Gomez and all, the more I'm convinced she's a red herring. That's thousands of dollars worth of paint...pigs blood might have been cheaper lol. Isnt the girl dancing and the guy watching and kinda moving on par for high school dances? Lol. The teen drama isn't ruining it for me, still enjoying it as a fun, middle of the road show. If it was darker and more powers (like you said) then I would probably up it to great show...side note: really need to watch Andor.

I mean I was cringy in highschool too, I had an emo phase, but I was never a bully who assaulted someone, ruined their art and was friends with bigots lol 💀 kinda surprised it didn't bother Wednesday tbh cause even tho she's violent it was always shown to be violence to protect others or herself or driven by revenge, not 4 normie guys bullying one outcast boy and assaulting him. Plus she hates pilgrims. Idk it just seems out of character for me

Why is James so unempathetic? Like he doesn't understand how these characters feel & just based everything on his feelings (as an outsider). The biggest case in point is how he doesn't understand how it's so embarrassing it was for Gordon to tell Enid that he accidentally stoned himself..

This is one of my favorite episodes because of all the character growth and insights we get. My favorite moment is definitely the small heart-to-heart between Bianca and Wednesday; it took it from the typical popular vs. outcast and gave them a connection. And while I agree that Wednesday hasn't given Tyler signals, in his VERY SMALL defense for the comment, he is the only person she really talks to or interacts with without disdain. But as that could also just be friendship, the defense is minimal. It's also great that the writers weren't afraid to have Wednesday make mistakes in regard to her investigation; she's NOT perfect and she's going to make missteps, and that's going to cause problems. (Also, Xavier is an entitled jerk and after this episode I wanted to smack him)

Ok im sorry but you both... well. I dont wanna be offensive. It would be best if Wednesday wasn't in a relationship with anyone. ESPECIALLY NOT WITH ENID. But... because of the fact that she's a cool creepy goth girl, you don't see the other side at all. To anyone else, Wednesday is a more creepy version of Sheldon Cooper. She is annoying, offends everyone, does not understand human behavior and the idea of socialization. You criticize Xavier and Tyler. But in this case... they're right. The most creepy of all the guys on this show so far... is the little fluffy bee friend whose behavior you applaud.
