@mogambo2445 yeah, traditional does hold up well because of the thick outlines and pretty basic layout, but all the lines in that tatto will be fuzzy. There's no two ways about it.

I'm waiting to see those embroidery patch tattoos when they get older. I think they're really cool, and as someone who collects patches, would like to get one. But I think that they probably don't age well. A lot of fine lines and highlights that I can see fading out.

I agree about the black outline. I just got a new tattoo and in my very first message to the artist I asked for full-color with a black outline. On the day of the appointment, I felt she was unprepared. She had to ask if I wanted color or B&W, so I reminded her I wanted color, then after she was done, I took a look at the tattoo and was shocked to see it had NO OUTLINE whatsoever. I had her go back in and add one, because there was no way I was walking out like that.

14:55 19:50 Not everything has to last 30 years. It’s perfectly fine to get delicate colors or whatever with the understanding that you’ll probably need to get it touched up every once in a while. You have no idea what that person wanted or expected. What if they don’t like black outlines? I’d rather have a tattoo I like that I have to touch up than a tattoo I dislike that sticks around forever.

New sub, no tattoos but hooked on tattoo content. Is 44 too late to start 😆 I’ve always wanted a really big back piece, one over my shoulder into the centre of my back. Nothing else, just the one. Everyone with Tatts I’ve ever told has suggested starting smaller, but I don’t want some silly little tattoo as a trial, I only want the one thing and will look for an amazing artist that specialises in the style I want to hopefully have it go well. Any thoughts ?

Somehow, still dont have a tatoo at 34, but i drew one, its on my wall, adore it, real glad i never got it done now, i can definetely see how bad it would of aged, i should outline more and maybe make some hight black shading in some places, the drawing itself, has a nice balance of not too much details but still detailed... i should redraw it.... maybe one day ill get it done... or not.
