He is just so incredibly musical! Even the way he phrases his lyrics is so well thought-out. For example, he starts off the song singing "you were" but he starts them on the off-beat, not on the first beat of the bar (which is what I would do). He just has so many components to his music that come together to make that ethereal quality. Bravo. Love it!!!!

I think that someone on AI made the smart decision to change the outcome and allow Alejandro to place second and not be eaten up by the contractual obligations of winning. From all the posts and reactions I've seen Alejandro definately was the favourite. Man they even allowed him to keep on performing his own songs, when has that ever happened before on a talent show. By far the best of this season. Sorry he didn't perform Fading Away, the judges would have been besides themselves trying to find words to compliment this. Really enjoyed your reactions to AA, probably the same as most of us. As they say "One for the ages",

I feel the same way you do. Alejandro takes me away every time I watch or hear him. I’ve listened to everything he’s put out there over and over again. I get frustrated when some people call him a one trick pony. I guess I wish everyone could feel what I feel. Thank you for sharing with us your thoughts about this gentle giant in the music world. But one thing I feel strongly about is I don't want him to win. Being selfish I want him to come in second. I have watched American Idol since the beginning and only a few winners really make it big and that for the most part has been in the country and roll in rock world. Once you win your lose control of how you use your skill. Alejandro is an unique case. He has a very clear picture of who he is. The wheel in this case has already been invented and is not broken. So there is no need to change anything. What he can use is the guidance of someone who respects his creativity . Someone like Lionel Richie. That's my prayer for him. The world loves you Alejandro 😍🙏💜

It's nearly impossible to pick a favorite original by Alejandro, but Fading Away might be the #1 for me. Even when he's signing about heartbreak, it's so beautiful. You are so right about the clarity of his voice. This song is Perfection and it is so moving. Alejandro cuts my heart into ribbons with this song and leaves me a crying, sobbing mess. This song could bring me out of a coma it is so good. I actually wish they would have played this song when I was in a coma because I think it would have brought me out.
