Jun Senoue was the composer and guitarist on this OST and his ability to make an electric guitar melody want to make you cry with how beautiful it is will suprise the uninitiated. Tomoya Ohtani has been the composer of the series since "Sonic the Hedgehog(2006)" and he really is amazing as well. Very cinematic and dynamic soundtracks. He should've been the composer of the Sonic movies over Junkie XL, in my opinion.

I wouldn't say "better" but don't get me wrong because both tracks are absolutely legendary and deserve the praise, but I think something people overlook is that SA1 was going for a very different vibe compared to SA2. SA2 has more rock and roll focused in more tracks, but SA1 has more variety in the type of atmosphere it tries to convey, but yes I agree! The SA2 soundtrack should also be given a try! I have some all-time favourites in both games!

nah, adventure 1 is perfect as ost, with clowe themes to the classics, every song matters. adventure 2 is overrated boring rock shit where it's just 1 or 2 or 3 songs. there are more interesting sonic osts out there, like cd, unleashed, 06, hell even rush

They decided to use musical styles to compliment each individual character in that game which is not a typical approach from them, but in no way is it an inferior approach to the soundtrack. Obviously the soundtrack is heavy on the guitars for a lot of Sonic and Tails stages especially, but that's Jun Senoue for you. Even then categorizing all of it as "rock" is just fucking wrong bro lol. A song having an electric guitar in it doesn't make it a rock song. Metal Harbor is a fantastic example of this, same with Radical Highway

@@VelvetAura all rock shit it's shonen, it's action driven, sonic stages are races against the clock, radical highway is boring af, tails' songs are just there in the background, eggman's are more of the same. only knuckles and rouge offer genuine variety. and shadow's vocal ones too it doesn't matter is vastly inferior, eggman's theme is repetitive and bland af cutscenes' are just there it's an edgy game thus a rock oriented ost. adventure 1 is closer to the classics, it's closer to mysticism and ambience. thus its ost being more varied and classic-sounding. it has simplicty too, and the music has fun with the game itself what? jun? sonic adventure 1 was much more than jun, there you have it quit crying, adventure 2 is pretty much the poster game of the franchise, it's far, VERY far from being a victim of criticism adventure 2 music IS inferior to adventure 1

You said you wanna play Sonic Lost World, i highly recommend. It's actually not that bad, just a lot different from most games. And the one that everyone hates is Sonic 06, it's basically unplayable. There's a free fan-made remake called P06 and it's free I think. The remake 100 times better than the actual game, but there's no story mode yet as far as I'm aware.

After you do Sonic Adventure 2 I’d recommend Sonic Unleashed, Sonic 06 or Sonic Colours. All fantastic OST. Also the Japanese OST of Sonic CD or the Sonic Rush OST if you’d prefer some funkier music. If you want some *SOUL* however try Sonic R. It never disappoints.
