Adam , very astute reaction. I think she is still playing and experimenting with her vocal instrument. She is obviously being influenced by a number of highly professional people behind her. At 17 i guess you still tend to go a bit with what the people around you may be suggesting. I think she will follow her musical instinct that will lead her down the track. During Plymouth concert, the band , in many cases, dominated her vocals. This is the next big step for her....but given all this she still puts in a stellar performance...and as you say her voice is that powerful and her sound so unique that it will cut through....and when the alchemy comes together...as it will...then, as they say in Hollywood...she will have definitely ARRIVED.

The truth is that within a year or two she will be the artist for the big occasions. and not a "bare belly plastic artist" who tops a list for a week and is forgotten just as quickly. She already eats most female vocalists for breakfast, and the label Republic Records and the rest of the music industry know that too! Angelina Jordan has nothing to prove. When she sometimes belts is it because the fits in the performances. She sings to us only she can do! Angelina recently had a sold-out concert in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, where there was an audience from 9 different country all the way from Australia and from 39 different states in the USA.

Her Nickname in the industry is THE BOSS for a reason. Nothing goes unchecked by her. She decides with whom she will work and cooperate. January 10th next year, she is 18 years old. Her new music style is a mixture of all genres, to rope in the younger generation. After Billie Holliday and Amy Winehouse, she is the next turning point in Jazz history to renew it. I agree completely, that her voice is the what sells the production. She does things her way. Like you, I do hope she doesn’t allow popularity to drive her down a different path. At her concert back in September she sang all of her songs from the EP. It was just her voice and the band. No extra production or back tracks. She sang them beautifully yet very different from the production versions I m so glad, I was able to experience that. Thank you for the great reaction

Adam, your concern is understandable. But also realize she has written the songs for all these tracks with power house song writers such as Rachel Platten, Taura Stintson, Fallon King and Jon Levine. These songs are based on some 100 from Angelina's notebook. As far as vocals, you have to listen to " Good in Goodbyes". Stunning vocal entry, and "All My Fault". Be assured her vocals are the focus. This is the most intelligent way to introduce her to gen Z.

Your worry of overproduction has been my worry as well. After hearing her EP OLD ENOUGH, I have no worries now. It's beautifully produced with Angelina's one of a kind voice and skill being on top of everything. Angelina knows what she wants and where she's going and it's clear she is the boss.

I made similar comments about over production the first time i listened to this EP. I really like the album, and appreciate the work that everyone put into it. We talk about too much production, but listen to the full orchestras behind Sinatra, Mathis, Williams and now it’s mostly computer enhances.

Great reaction. I think Angelina has the final say in her music. Unlike some pop singers that are in the hands of the record company and producers, Angelina’s contract with Republic Records gives her creative control. Her most recent release Our Time from a week and a half ago, is being used in an ad for the financial company SoFi. It will also be played at games at SoFi Stadium.

I very much agree. Also the fact that Republic Records built a recording studio exclusively for Angelina, even before she has generated as much as a dollar in return, speaks volumes in this regard. They know who she is and what she can do, and they will definitely give her room and freedom. I have no doubt 🙂

Her latest release, titled 'Our Time' which I'm not sure if it is from her album that is supposed to be out by the end of the year, but it is another great one. I have watched many reactors listen to it and none of them could sit still, it just gets you moving.

SoFi Stadium in Hollywood, CA is home to two football teams and is scheduled to host games for the 2026 World Cup. Angelina is the singing voice for the 2026 World Cup so she will get worldwide exposure.

Great reaction Adam. I am quite confident that Republic records know what "Diamond" she is. They made her own studio for her to make her music. I do not think they did it to drown her voice out. Her voice is in center until now and i think will remain so. She did a new song "Our Time" that is also to be heard in SoFi-commercial. She is in a good place and i can not wait for the world to discover her. Love from a Norwegian subscriber that always give you like every time!

Word is that AJ produces a bit herself now on this EP, that with her control over her contract and that everyone at Republic adores her I dont think she will get drowned out. Republic built AJ her own private studio. What we need is competent sound engineers during live events that dont mess up.

Thanks Adam, since "Shield" we are foretelling that the day will come that she will Bond song.. Just a matter of time. This EP is wonderful as it has so many different genres incorporated. You should react to "All my fault" from this EP is the presumably "simplest" in structure but imo strongest emotionally and vocally, with great lyrics and chorus.

I have always felt what I am going to say… She needs her own “big” song. And ballads like “Million Miles” These tight (short) catchy pop jazz fusion songs are fine, but not what I am looking for. Of those, I do like this, Diamond, and all the way back to Shield. Think of the songs she has covered that move you/me, whatever. Born to Die, A Million Years Ago, Suspicious Minds, big songs like Easy on Me, I have Nothing, Feeling Good. She says, I believe, she has written 100 songs herself already so we shall see, what she, her family, and Republic Records do going forward. I am sure that I am in the minority, but if I had to choose between pop/jazz superstar, or artistic integrity, and quality, the latter, hands down. Songs to cover going back, might be How Great thou Art, and her second, AND the Nobel versions of Unchained Melody. ☑️👌😎 JP

P.s. another young prodigy thats getting her own beat lately, Diana Ankudinova has been touring several dates and projects. Shes the voice of the lake spirit and produced the songs for a large scale movie Baikal. She's singing under water to fulfill her character. Its excellent. Also a jazzy ballad wriiten for her Yeah You where she explores her highest chest voice notes to date and her dreamiest vocalyzing yet. Theres also a short video of her wailing out the National Anthem at a sports event. You can see the audience beaming as she breathes new life into an old anthem. Plus lots of captures from her many shows. Shes becoming very animated with lots of movement now and fashion shoots too. Her team is taking her places. Check it out.

I have followed and been an admierer of Angelina since her debut 6 years old in Norske Talenter (Norways Got Talent)and allways been enthusiastic. Her last productions have worried me. I feel her beautifull voice is disturbed by the - for me - noisy accompaniament. I hope she will return a bit more to her jazzy and mellow style. Is this perhaps to try catching more and another group of fans ? Or is this a sigh from an old man foreign to modern taste (80 years) ?

Hei på deg 🙂 Angelina's 1st audition on Norway's Got Talent was done when she was 7, not 6. By the time she performed her second song, "I'm A Fool To Want You" (a capella) she had turned 8. As far as your concern, I think it is one that is shared by quite a number of her fans. But I think you can rest assured that the reason is because of the reason you mention. She needs to catch the US audience's attention if she wants to make it big in the music industry. When THAT goal is achieved she can do pretty much whatever she wants. She is THAT good I think. She won't easily lose her fans. There is so much to her outside of singing. She can become a REAL icon and idol with time. I am sure it will happen.

it's not bombastic for bombastic sake. it's her coming out song because she's old enough finally to release her first album. the culmination of her first EP. We'll see the rest of the album. however, Our Time is a FIFA intro for sure, I have now seen it on Sunday football. It's clearly a sports jam and I imagine it will be THE FIFIA song for 2026 when she becomes the Carrie Underwood for FIFA. Interesting that she will likely be more international than American for her breakeout.

I also don’t agree with pitting artists against each other in terms of who is better because of X reason - both are talented in very different ways. I understand you aren’t a fan of them for whatever reasons, but both are incredibly talented in different wants. Taylor Swift and Madonna connect with thousands of fans around the world because their music connects with people emotionally and they are admired as artists and what they’ve done for the music industry, not because of ‘strutting’ or ‘glitz’. Angelina will get there in her own way and it’ll be great to see her progress with all of the time in her career she has ahead of her. But being toxic for the sake of comparison makes absolutely no sense.

Decorations (not frills) are fundamental in Angelina's style. Since she is first and foremost a great storyteller, the decorations serve to emphasize the stories she tells. It is also thanks to these decorations that her singing manages to involve, excite and move many people. Then tastes are tastes and there are those who prefer the flat minimalist style to "decorations"..

Adam a fait extrêmement de réactions à Angelina, et il a été mon réacteur préféré pendant très longtemps. Puis tout d’un coup, il a cessé de réagir à son égard, et je me suis toujours demandé pourquoi. Nous savons tous qu'il y a eu un certain nombre de personnes extrêmement toxiques dans les commentaires, des personnes qui ne lui veulent rien de bon, et je crains qu'il en ait rencontré un peu trop. Au point qu’il a complètement cessé de réagir à son égard et ne m’a laissé d’autre « choix » que de me désinscrire. Mais chaque fois que je vois une de ses réactions, je me souviens pourquoi il était (et est toujours) l'un de mes réacteurs préférés absolus. J'ai hâte de voir s'il y aura plus de réactions de sa part à son nouvel EP et à sa nouvelle chanson. Je me demande s’il réagit toujours aussi à Eivør. Salutations de Norvège.
