I read an article that stated, Angelina said she felt a connection to this song as soon as she heard it. That would explain how she was able to post a TikTok video only 6 hours after the song was released, and this magnificent video 12 days later. People have commented that Angelina is making a statement with this song, about what she has gone through as a child, even though her parents have made every attempt to give her a normal childhood, and she is asking us to give her time, she's still a child, so go easy on her. Whatever the meaning, it has become a favorite, and no disrespect intended, but again, I enjoy Angelina's version so much more than the original. This is the case with nearly all of her covers.

And on the cover video Angelina released, it was posted October 26, so it was 11 days. Hmmm.... and I have been posting it was 12 for several months. 😕 This is to be expected when we reach a certain age. 😄

"I had good intentions and the highest hopes, but I know right now it probably doesn't even show". Easy to understand how Angelina related to that lyric. Her career was moving along as her family had planned through her appearance on AGT and then the pandemic hit. Yes she did sign with Republic Records as their highest priority new artist but she was unable to give concerts, for the past two years, which she was born to do. Angie we angels continue to love and support you and greatly anticipate the time when we can attend one of your concerts. Hang in there, continue working on your music. The best is yet to come. Andy, great comment. I believe that the song was autobiographical as well. The passion she feels while singing it just shows that she is singing about her life. I understand the point you’re making. She did an interview before she was 7 years old. She was asked why she likes singing. She answered that singing is how she communicates how she feels. Which makes perfect sense and why it’s so easy to get drawn into her performances. Her ability to emote her feelings through songs that may be written about experiences she hasn’t had yet but still relate to something she can understand. I hope that makes sense. I enjoy listening to Angelina and I enjoy watching reactions like yours just as much. Perhaps because I can relate to you and how you feel about the music. I look forward to your next one. Great job. Your respect and love for Angelina is clear. But I don't think Angelina is an entertainer, certainly not in the usual sense of one who would amuse, distract, or divert his/her audience from their usual routines. I think Angelina is not about that at all but rather focuses her artistry on the deepest, most integral parts of her listeners. She does this here and consistently and in many performances. She moves us in ways she doesn't want us (and we don't ) to forget. Many have said she often makes them want to be better, not just while hearing her, but consistently afterward.

I agree. The lack of attempting to entertain is one of the things I really enjoy about this young lady. Her voice and an instrument or two in the background, and she makes you feel and live the song she's singing. There are quite a few that have to rely on skimpy clothes, lights and smoke, jumping around on stage or other things to keep their audiences attention, but not this 'artist'. She paints a picture with her voice and shows us what she wants us to see/hear.

Incredulous take for Angelina. Adele produces a beautiful non-jazz singer ballad, as she always does, and Angelina comes by to top it, as she usually always does. How you may ask? Well the answer is basically that Angelina is first and foremost a jazz singer and this allows her to passionately penetrate the depths of the human soul far deeper than any non-jazz singer could ever hope to do, not even Adele. We then realize that by being a 'vocal chameleon', able to emulate other singers vocals, she brings into the song the essence of Adele but then does something extraordinary. That being the 'breathy' responses she learned from jazz legend Billie Holiday, as well as aspects of the most uniquely different jazz singer of all time, that being Amy Winehouse. Angelina utilizes Amy's 'slurring' of words, for adding a natural, human feel to the vocals and also incorporates a radical style of mid-sentence 'key' changes that Amy perfected. The result is a '4 pronged' attack to the senses, giving the listener the effect of 4 superstar singers, not just one. Have never, ever, heard another singer being able to do this with regard to complexity and excellence. No other singer has ever been able to excel in as many different genres as Angelina and when you realize that many of her fans refer to her as 'Girl Of 1000 Voices', you can understand why. amy
