ATEEZ is famous for overwhelming people because they are so surprising. They have a very deep lore that goes through all their videos, interactions, and even gets incorporated into their promotional materials for CDs/albums. As others have said, they're essentially space-and-dimensional time traveling pirates, and unless you're really interested in the lore, I'd say just know it exists and enjoy all the videos for what they are. It's not because the lore is impossible to follow, it's that it's not necessary to enjoy the music, the themes, the concepts that the group uses. As a group, they are performance kings, and are especially good live, as they have remarkably stable vocals, insane choreography, and amazing facial expressions. Halazia is their latest big-budget release, so of course it got all the production value, but the production value has been going up steadily since their (dual track) debut (Pirate King, Treasure) in 2018. I'd highly recommend Say My Name, Inception, Turbulence (if you're into ballads), or Answer (if you're not so into ballads!) next. They've done every genre, from more "pure" EDM to sweet cute-boy concepts, so there's always something to like. And they'll be coming back in the next couple months, so you have that to look forward to! Thanks for your reaction!

​@@Nanita Brand new to your channel, since this popped in my feed (thank you, KZbin algorithm, for feeding my ATEEZ addition). I only started listening to Kpop last November (so about 6 months now), and ATEEZ quickly found their way into my heart (I was hooked after the first song I heard, "Answer"). Subscribing now so I can make sure I don't miss it when you react to something else I find interesting! These young men are amazing. I'm old enough to be their mama (my oldest is 16 days older than Captain Hongjoong; HJ and I share a birthday, but I turned 19 on the day he was born, lol)... I often refer to myself as a MamaTINY, and I remind myself regularly of that age gap because these guys love to test my ability to appreciate their talents without totally fangirling like a teenager (you know, while they do their best to melt my screen and lose my cool like the old-ish lady that I am 😂). They truly do go beyond being "idols". -- Every single one of them is a beautiful person, inside and out, and it shows in everything they do (even when being savage with each other). -- Every song they put out is worth listening to (with translated lyrics) whether it's your usual style or not, because every single song speaks. The b-sides are just as amazing as the ones that get promotional focus. -- Their stages are absolute fire, and their dance practices might as well be MVs or lives because they go hard no matter where they are. -- The MVs are beautiful, and most of them fit into their lore (and as @KayPoppedUp mentioned, even their lives and specials will often incorporate lore into the performances). If there's a teaser or preview video available for an album or song, go ahead and watch it -- those give very helpful context that make the MVs easier to understand. There are also a number of other resources that help to give better understanding to it all, but there's still a lot that hasn't even been released. Many of the MVs include an ending bit (like you see in "Deja Vu") that has a snippet of music and visuals that fit into the overall storyline somehow (though it's not always clear how they fit, to the frustration of many), but not all do. -- For "Halazia" specifically, that one is a "spin-off" from their main lore, told from the viewpoint of "the witness(es)" as opposed to ATEEZ's POV. -- Creativity flows from them in mind-blowing ways -- like how San turns basic choreo into interpretive dance based on the feelings he thinks it should convey. -- They're not afraid of playing around with every genre under the sun (usually several all wrapped up in one song), influenced by sounds and visuals from across the globe. -- They are STRONG, and their performances (and fan service moments) are proof positive of that fact. In the blooper reel for "The Real", the very end shows Jongho pull an apple apart with just his hands (basic parlor trick for him), but he can also split or break things like oranges, spaghetti squash, and watermelon; he's known as the strongest one of the group, despite being the youngest, and can easily pick up the other members to carry them. San is essentially a freight train. Yeosang's arms might as well have their own show, especially lately ("Halazia" is the newest of these 3 MVs, so his arms are quite noticeable in the scenes where he's got the chains). I recommend "Limitless" if you're interested in seeing another MV that highlights their physiques and strength. -- They love ATINY, and you can clearly see it in their eyes/faces. We are their treasure, and even a baby ATINY like me knows it. While music and MV reactions are amazing, one thing I'll never get tired of watching reactions to is guides. They just debuted at the end of March, so there's not a ton of content for you to cover yet... and they slaughtered their debut stage.

That allthekennys guide is amazing!! Long, but amazing!! And sis I’m with you!! My oldest kiddo is 17. And I’m know as Eomma by my chaostiny fambams. Absolutely adore my Atiny family and my ATEEZ. The Doberman aka YeoSang stole my heart slowly from SeongHwa and HongJoong. I got so excited watching this even tho I have seen each mv countless times, I just love seeing people discover ateez for the first time. I get overwhelmed by lots of things very easily and even though ateez has overwhelming everything I love them so much because it’s something I can choose to get overwhelmed by. I also love how many changes there are in each song, I kind of get bored when a song sounds the same all throughout and feel the need to skip it because I know the rest of it is the same, but because ateez have so many changes I need to hear every single part each time I listen. The real has a very deep meaning and they have satoori lines in it, the MV was inspired by Japanese movie, their lore is very big, their company it's all about lore and story lines ATEEZ went viral not because of a big company, they come from a very small one that is now, because of them, one of the most successful ones, they became viral cause of their talent and music.

oh my gosh im so happy u reacted to them 😭💗 so the music videos are very lore influenced, the basic is that they are pirates, there are 2 dimensions (dimension A and Z), there's distopia where they try to fight a government that banned music art and emotions, and a lot more (u need to watch a lore guide and every music video to actually understand the lore) 😭😭 but pirates is their main thing. also i agree the rap line is very strong, it consists of hongjoong (the leader) and mingi (the deep voice one) and fun fact they write their own raps since debut which is amazing and the leader also participates in the production of the songs. and personally i think they are very underappreciated in the kpop industry 😭 one last thing, i can't get over how pretty u are istg, and i hope u react to more ateez in the future lyy 💗 and also i have a feeling that you will love inception so i definitely recommend that for a future reaction video

Hello, I just discoverd your chanel and I am obssesed, HOW CAN YOU BE SO PRETTY???? I'm soooooo happy you reacted to ATEEZ their litterlay my favorite group!!! Yes you guessed it, they do have a big storyline, I'ts really hard to explain and I just read a comment explaining some of it so I'll leave it to them. Ateez do al lot of genres and they slay every single one. For example, deja vu is sexy, promise is a soft song, ect... The real is actually about their real style, they mean to say that the real style is bein humble and kind as the lyrics say, ''We live passionately But have more humbleness and kindness than anyone else I keep my beliefs'' Halazia is continuing on the storyline, when you understand a little about the storyline HALAZIA an GUERILLA's ( another song of theirs that I think you schould check out) meaning schould be obvious, although some still can't figure it out. Ateez is very known for they give hints of the melody of next comeback song by putting a snippet of melody on the last part of music video. So there producers prepared their songs 2 to 3 yrs before its release, and ateez only need to record it and put up the rap parts written by rappers in the group, learn the choreography and film the mv. That's why they are constantly releasing comebacks even though they are having world tour all the time. They had 2 world tours last 2022 and still having a tour this year and festivals. Its like them and their company are very organize handling them while giving them also time for breaks and vacation.

i LOVED what you said about ateez having this sort of mischievous, playful energy and being able to pull it off! i think ateez are more known for their darker, intense songs and stage presence, and imo i think that playful energy in songs like the real is another aspect of their performances that i really, really love about them. like not only do they have the theatricality and dramaticism to pull off songs like halazia, but they also have this sort of confidence that allows them to have fun in songs like the real. it makes the stage feel like one huge party and i love that lol. thank you so much for checking them out!!!

Pleaseeee react to more ateez, they are actually quite underrated, even though they have alot of viral moments 😭. I recommend thanxx and inception, as well as halazia live performance! Thanxx is a more hype song, slightly rap focused and veryy dance focused while inception is wayyyy more vocal focused and is one of their less-overwhelming songs (its soo so good though) And ateez are known for their top-teir stage presence and seeing them perform (with actual LIVE vocals) just makes halazia even more groundbreaking ✨ Cant wait to see more reactions from you~ 💕💕💕

Also just incase you don't know what each member looks like hongjoon is the rapper with the orange hair in deju vu and the one wearing the winter like hat in halazia San is the one with the ultimate cheek bones he's the guy that pulled down the black shaped object at the end of halazia yeosang was the first deep voice guy in halazia who was dragging the chains on the ground seonghwa was the blonde in halazia wooyoung was the red hair in halazia mingi was the yellow mix with redish orange in halazia yunho was the one sitting under the hour glass in halazia and jongho was the high note guy at the part before the pre-chores wich was the bell ringing that the actual chores

The last part in Deja vu's video is actually the beggining of Turbulence, but you should listen to Wave before Turbulence for maximum damage (?). Ateez' storyline is a little complicated because there is time travel, space travel! and meeting in dreams! and actual parallel worlds! And doppelgängers! Well, it's a lot, but the albums come with this diaries that you can read to try and understand some of it if you're interested. Glad to see you finally reacting to them

So basically here’s ateez storyline rundown 8 teens in high school are all traumatized and wanna be a dance team. They get split up and the leader (hongjoong) has a dream where he meets this dude in all black and a fedora. Fedora man gives him a magical hourglass known as the Chromer and Hongjoong turns it. Chromer takes him and the rest of ateez to another dimension into a city known as Strictland where emotions and expression is outlawed. Fedora man is hongjoong from this universe and he and fedora ateez (aka Halateez from their song Hala Hala) lead a rebellion but they’ve been imprisoned so now ateez are the new 8 who must lead the rebellion.

you’ll understand the mv’s more if you check out the lore! it’s all connected to their lore so that’s why it gets confusing at first but once you check the lore and it’s explanations it’ll get clear also you might notice some clips being played at the end of mv’s some of those are teasers for upcoming content for an example at the end of deja vu the instrumental desplayed in the last few seconds is from turbulence!

I am of the opinion that you don't need to know the lore to enjoy their videos. Pretty much whenever there's an ending clip or imagery you don't get, you can just assume it's a story thing and just enjoy the aesthetics. (I personally enjoy the lore, but if you're not into multiverse storylines I really wouldn't bother.) Except for The Real, which is its own thing. 3 school gangs trying to recruit the new student - baseball club, calligraphy club, and biker gang. The dude in white watching them is like the spirit of peace. In the end they just come together and have a dance party. (And then Jongho splits an apple in half with his bare hands. That's not a lore thing, it's just a Jongho thing. 😂)

It's okay if you feel overwhelmed and crazy initially because that's the purpose of their music IMO, they WANT US to feel strong emotions - maybe that's why you see a lot of ATINY be very passionate about ATEEZ. They're masters of immersion and theatrical performances! I feel like you'd like Answer, Wonderland, Say My Name and Turbulence. Or even better, you could listen to in order of the release. I will list it down for you here - - Pirate King/Treasure - introduced themselves with a bang - Say My Name / Hala Hala - swag and pure power - Wave / Illsuion - light summery fun - Wonderland - hype anthem - Answer - emotional - Inception - despair and longing - Fireworks- party dance anthem - Deja Vu / Eternal Sunshine - EtSun is guaranteed to make u smile cuz its so cute and refreshing - The Real / Turbulence - Turbulence is great to shed a tear or two- the lyrics are very relatable - Guerrila - psychedelic metal inspired _Halazia (the EDM towards the end - was drum and bass and then it changed to dubstep!! i went crazyyy when I heard it cause its so so rare to find dnb in kpop!! the last 30 seconds feels so cathartic!) some comebacks have double title tracks that's why I mention them so. Also SOME MVs will have tiny clips towards the end which act as spoilers and musical motifs for future comebacks so keep an eye out for those! I see you got confused about The Real MV. Basically, Mingi is a new transfer student and every other member belongs to a school club: baseball, motorcycle and calligraphy. It’s standard practice for school clubs to recruit new members. So, everyone is trying to get Mingi to join their club (and fighting amongst each other because of it) but he seems to be fine on his own, and so is Yeosang. That’s just about my understanding of it. The song could be about each school club showing off/fighting about who is better through core values (being humble, valuing etiquette and being respectful etc). The song could also reflect Ateez in respects to other groups. They deserve to be respected, and they’re setting a standard for everyone else (either through music, style or character and showing respect where it’s due).

Believe me when i tell you, ATEEZ is everything but overhyped. You cannot hype these men enough because they really are just the whole package 🥺 stunning vocals (which you can hear more of in their softer songs) with one the greatest vocals of all times, their baby Jongho ✊🏻 a really strong rap line that bring you different energy and flows everytime. also to look out with the rappers is that they have their signatures when they rap. Hongjoong, the captain and the rapper with the lighter tone does a laugh 99% of the time before he starts and Mingi, our cutie with the deep tone says fix on! And i do not want to start with the visuals of these group, because we might be here for a while lol. They have crazy stage presence and are one of the best performers and have been given so many titles by critics. They are Atinys whole pride so i am glad you gave them a chance and loved it! You absolutely will not regret diving deeper into their discography because they have one of the most diverse i have encountered in Kpop. From 80ies synth, to trap, jazz, r‘n'b and even a song that gives off church vibes, they have it all 🖤

Oh and I think the story is so great in "the real" music video, so let me summarize it a little for ya: ---Mingi (the new guy in the school) is reading a book called ethics & when he puts it on the table or someone tries to punch it, it has a great power ---There are 3 cliques in this school: -----> Seonghwa & Hongjoong - the calligraphy/traditional guys -----> San & Wooyoung - the baseball team -----> Jongho & Yunho - the motorcycle gang ---All 3 cliques are kind of in a battle & trying to get the new kid into their own clubs (the dance battles 02:15, 04:01, 05:44) & then they come along (06:17) ---Then Yeosang comes as the symbol of peace ---Then the celebration scene all together for being "humble & kind" The end

Oh and here are some bite-sized infos about them for a better experience: 1 - You may have already understood but all of their music videos/songs are related to each other in a storyline 2 - They usually had double singles/music videos for each album (pirate king-treasure, say my name-hala hala, wave-illusion, inception-thanxx, deja vu-eternal sunshine & etc.) 3 - "Pirate King" was their debut song but not quite a music video, more of a performance video ---as you can tell by the name of that song, their concept is pirates 4 - As you have partially seen in the "Deja Vu" & "Halazia" music videos, there is another Ateez called Halateez (with the fedora hats), who are basically like anarchists in another universe (similar to a dystopia from Brave New World or 1984) 5 - From their 1st comeback, "Say My Name" was more like a debut song for Ateez & "Hala Hala" was like the debut of Halateez 6 - Their albums are as released as series: 7 - Their 1st album series, the "Treasure" albums (because you know, they are pirates who are looking for the "Treasure") were like a teaser to their whole storyline as far as I know (so far you haven't seen any music videos from there but in my opinion, it is their best. so if you think these were good, wait until you see those 😅) 8 - Their 2nd album series, the "Fever" albums were more about youth & high school years, thus the school uniforms/sets & the youthful vibe you mentioned. More like showing how Ateez has become Ateez (so far, you have already seen "deja vu" & "the real" from there) 9 - Their 3rd & most recent album series, the "World" albums have just started & we have only 1 album from there so far (so far you haven't seen it either) 10 - Halazia is their latest release and it was like a spinoff to the whole storyline about a different Ateez, in the same dystopian universe with Halateez but in that one, Halateez was already beaten by the system (the scarecrow with the fedora hat, chains & etc.) and the Halazia guys were called "the new 8" My suggestions: You should see "Say My Name" first & then "Hala Hala" from the Treasure series. Like I said, these 2 are the title tracks of their 1st comeback but more like the debut of Ateez & the debut of Halateez, so very crucial for the storyline. Then you should watch "Answer", which was the finale of the Treasure series. It will add up so well if you watch these 3 back to back (even thinking about it gave me chills ngl) It is very hard to pick songs from Ateez's discography so I will just keep it there with these 3 for now (but after these 3, maybe you should see "Inception" & "Thanxx" which were the title tracks of their first Fever album. Then right after them "Fireworks" from their 2nd Fever album would be a great combo (actually Fireworks is imo not their best, but it was what got me into Ateez & I see so many people are the same!! So it is definitely a stan attractor)
