To tell you about what Barış Manço meant for many people in Turkey, I'd like to give an example. I'm not the type of person that cries frequently or expresses any emotions explicitly at all. Yet, the moment I got the news of his passing, I started sobbing and tears kept pouring out of my eyes, in such intensity that I was not able to stop. There was that big place in my heart that I hadn't really been aware of that's been occupied by his art and legacy, that I suddenly felt the emptiness it left behind. I believe that was why I lost control and cried and cried with intense sadness. I guess many people all over Turkey spanning multiple generations, cultures and backgrounds shared a similar experience with me. He was above most of the concepts that divide people, such an icon. Got it? :)

Three great Turkish Rock singers changed the face of Turkish music: Barış Manço, Erkin Koray, Cem Karaca... Firstly they created the pyschedelic anatolian rock genre(we can also count bands and musicians like Moğollar, Ersen ve Dadaşlar, Üç Hürel, Mavi Işıklar, Erkut Taçkın, Zafer Dilek in this genre). And they influenced almost all genres of Turkish popular music, especially rock. I recommend you to listen some songs of three great: Barış Manço: Fairground, Susanna, Blue Morning Angel, Old Paulin, Kara Sevda, Hemşerim Memleket Nere... Cem Karaca: Ay Karanlık, Namus Belası, Tamirci Çırağı, Parka... (more progressive like The Doors) Erkin Koray: Akrebin Gözleri, Mezarlık Gülleri, Arapsaçı, Blonda Man, My Delight, Mesafeler, Meçhul... (I wrote them directly in Turkish pronunciation sorry for that bro hope you enjoy)

He was a multicultural, modest and hata person who sang this song. After his death, this song was combined by taking sections from his many different songs and videos shot in the places he visited, even the part with a huge picture among the crowd, a picture during the funeral, he wrote this song for his deceased grandmother " one day with the autumn rains You left, we couldn't believe it Gülpembe, our provinces could not be silent without you, Gülpembe " says

@@andygreen9673 Barış Manco; He was fluent in Dutch, German, French, English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Japanese, as well as Arabic, Italian, and Hebrew, and spoke 8 different languages (such as Mongolian) well enough to speak his mind. By looking at what I wrote, you can see that he spoke 17 foreign languages, compared to his mother tongue, and that I already said 20 languages. You commented just to criticize, and he was also a very good artist with over 200 compositions, and he was too humble and naive to not want to be called an artist.

@@leventdivarc3607 unlike you i don't make things up, i prefer to deal with facts, he was only fluent in 2 other languages, French and English. as for the number of compositions, it's around 120, you're just repeating wrong information you found online.
