This reaction just reminded me all of the reasons that this has overtaken the others as my absolute favorite cover the Bass Gang has done so far. I’m so glad you were able to get around to the reaction, thank you for your wonderfully comedic breakdowns and for the excuse to listen to this absolutely stunning performance for the 50th time 😁💕

Bass Gang is great as usual and Ekaterina has the voice of an angel but earring all of their voices together is overwhelming!

Pen count begins: 1. I wonder if you've heard the original version to compare all the covers. This is a nice cover so far "Peter, I got no more to give" hahahahah. That noise Marwen made was interesting because it does sound like an instrument you get in the Scandi areas. Who... what... that high note! It's beautiful! I don't think Ekaterina is the one doing the high note, it sounds above where her voice sits. Cover wise, my favourite version is the Old Norse version that Colm McGuinness does. It's stunning! And vikings is a really good show, Lagertha is so badass!

Viking is very bloody, as you would expect. My favourite character is Lagertha. Ekaterina is definitely giving me Lagertha vibes. This is the best version I've heard. Peter has a lengthy breakdown of this on his channel.

I LOVE those historical shows, and Vikings are a particular interest-also, blood and gore generally doesn’t bother me that much, but I had to take a break from Vikings because it was so relentless even FF didn’t help that much. I did eventually watch the whole thing but it was VERY gory.

So bloody good, right? I hope they feature Ekaterina more and I SO love this arrangement. And you should watch Vikings but plan to FF a lot if you’re queasy about blood and gore. I usually am not but that series did get to me after awhile. I still love it, though.

Fun fact: one time I had the privilege of going to a restaurant with Peter Barber. I sat across from him and watched him eat chicken wings. It was a highlight of my life so far 😂
