Males being affectionate with other males is a korean cultural thing. In general, kids are kinda raised to not be afraid to hug and kiss their fathers, siblings, and other kids. They don’t have the fear that people will call them gay bc it’s normal for all of them to act that way.

He loves little kids so much, there are several videos where they are signing autographs for fans and you can see him keep looking at a toddler size child coming through the line with its mother/sister/care taker and V just glows when they get to him and he has to hold the child. I mean, even in Korea, they are well known for being absurdly affectionate with each other. Yes, it is more common in the East for men to be 'touchy-feely', hold hands, etc. but bystanders like producers, staff, etc have commented that BTS are like this group that love each other so much they don't know what to do or that they act like a litter of puppies sometimes.

I am American and didn’t realize that it was common in some Asian cultures. I think it’s wonderful. I also think if they are perceived as overly affectionate, keep in mind that human touch is so important. They don’t have the luxury of being with family and significant others due to their stardom and schedules. Since human touch can be so healing or indicate a shared moment (even silly ones), I think often that they are the only ones able to provide that comfort to each other.

They do act like a litter of puppies most of the time. LOL! Watch any Run episode or Bon Voyage and you can see the comparison. I've helped raise many litters of puppies and kittens from the time I could walk until now (40's) and the comparison is right on the money. Climbing all over each other, play fighting while others are trying to talk, loud af, easily excitable, adorably clumsy, highly distractable LMAO! I'm sure though that when they are working, it's way different. But when they are just being themselves, it is chaos and I love every minute of it!

V Taehyung is a free spirit, JK is the youngest but when the boys first banded he did not interact with the group. JK pretty much kept to himself and did his best to avoid the members. V, on the other being the extra extrovert became the baby of the group. JK, Suga and RM were the loners of the group but V is the one who really showed them how to have fun and show their affections. The members thought V was different from anyone they ever met before because V was being V. He does what he wants, he says what he feels without thinking about what someone might think of him. V is very comfortable in his skin. RM said that V was odd and different at first, but that oddness (free spirit) is the quality RM admires most about V. V said his role model is his Dad because he is the one V respects the most. V said he speaks with his Dad at least once a day. He is a good boy!
