We dont see musicians in k-pop, to be honest. Most of them usually great dancers with nice vocals. Main vocals usually are belters with great lung capacity. Rappers are the most musically talented ones (usually), but all over idols tend to focus on performing and serving visuals. When the go solo, most of them just make standart pop songs with addictive choros section and tiktok approved dance moves. No one really does music for the music anymore. A handful of them at most. V is one of those musicians. Rare. He listens music all the time. He listens everything and appreciates instruments. Writes his own melodies and lyrics. Tries to learn more instruments, he tried sax, violin, trumpet etc so far. He loves genres outside of k-pop, or pop itself actually. Works with poc vocals all the time, get into rnb jazz and blues. I respect him so much. He wanted to debut with Layover even tho it might not be successful like other solo works. He wanted to bring what he has to the table. I love him

Just a little fascinating fact that all ARMY knows but you probably don't. Back in 2014 when BTS had been together 1 year, they filmed a reality show in the US. I won't go into detail but in part of the series they went for vocal lessons with Iris Stevenson, who loosely inspired the move Sister Act. V hadn't much experience or training but Iris said about his voice, "People feel something when you sing. He is soulful, I want to hear more. Keep him!"💜

This is probably one of my favourite Tiny Desks from BTS (we had full band one and a solo for another member) but this is the most raw of them all,,, As a fan, I see Tae is the happiest when he is enjoying music, real live music with the artist around, this, Le jazz de V and IU's pallete we got to see real joy on his face and we appreciate it a lot as fans. Speaking of edited vocals, I have to warn you that in BTS tracks his vocals gets heavily edited, (Layover) and he self produced tracks are the times that we actually got to enjoy his natural voice,, Alas, there's a handful of tracks in the band discography that utilise his voice like (DNA, Sae, Pied Piper, the truth untold, spring day, Crystal snow, Blue&Grey which he took part in writing and producing) other than that either he is growling like a metal star or has heavily edited part, so I truly suggest you check his own songs if this isn't your thing, we came a long way and waited so long for him to shine in hi element and we couldn't be more proud 💜

V's voice live is heavenly. I look forward to your reaction to "Le Jazz de V". I first got into BTS through their group's Tiny Desk Concert. They bring so much energy to the performance and it's clear that they enjoy performing together. Their camaraderie shines through the screen. It was actually this infectious energy, and not necessarily the songs itself (although they're great songs), that drew me to them. There are so many good songs in the world, from so many great artists, but their joy in music and performing is magnetic. RM (BTS's leader) also did a Tiny Desk Concert. He's a rapper in the group, but he also has nice soothing vocals and he chose two laid-back soulful songs and one more funky and upbeat for the performance. I don't know if you like rap or not, but I think you can still enjoy the musicianship in this performance.

Two of the three BTS rappers came from the underground rap scene before joining BTS and it shows -- in their flows and cadences, in their lyrics, in their beats. All three rappers are equally talented and yet so different in style. And their lyrics are often meaningful and introspective. My recommendations: * RM - Wild Flower * Suga/Agust D - Daechwita * J-hope - More * Rap line - Outro: Tear (Wembley concert) * BTS - Born Singer (live performance, remake of J. Cole's Born Sinner)

5:19: I LOVE LOVE LOVE the live performances with a live band. My one question, Pierre, is why the final chord of Love Me Again (which is why I included the time stamp) ends where it does. I keep expecting one more chord -- this ending feels incomplete; it just seems to drop off in the middle of the measure. Do you have any thoughts on this?

It is a common practice in that music genre to end a song on a note or chord that leaves you "wanting". The simplest example is a major 7 chord. I don't want to get to technical but for example if you take a scale in C major ... C D E F G A B and after that it would repeat from C again... Playing the B in that scale is the seventh note and that always wants to resolve in the 8th note (1st note) It is just the feeling it gives. Usually it is used as a note to transition to a next part of the song or solo or whatever... but as I said in that music genre you can often hear songs end on the seventh just because they can. As an expression and to leave the audience - as you also experienced - expecting more. I'm not good in explaining music theory. I know it but was never really good at explaining... Hope it helped though!
