Lullaby is a direct tie in to The Roof. Its final chorus has her whispering the melody of The Roof to reiterate its mention in Lullaby's second verse. Also the final chorus includes a mention of her song Anytime You Need A Friend which was Derek Jeter's favourite Mariah song. Hope lullaby grows on you, its such a groove

This album is a lyrical masterpiece! Some lambs don't like the album that much because of the excessive whispery vocals. I also have mixed feelings about some of her vocal choices here. But personally, this album is so cohesive. I like every song, except for You Had Your Chance, Irresistible, Lullaby, and Through The Rain Remix. I can tolerate You Had Your Chance, but the latter 3 are some of my least favorite Mariah's vocal moments. I feel like Sunflower was such a perfect ending song. The Emancipation Of Mimi is next! I can't wait to watch your reaction to that album! While Emotions and Butterfly are still my top 2, but i think TEOM is when she was at her best lyrically, musically, and vocally.

I absolutely love through the rain & wished it had of made it to number 1 but no matter what it will always be beautiful. Sunflowers for Alred Roy is about her dad when he had passed from cancer the same year she was putting out this album. He was allergic to all flowers except for sunflowers so that's what was brought to him many times being in the hospital. The cover bringin on the heartbreak is from the awesome rock band Def Leppard that they released in the early 80s. Looking forward to your reaction to " the emancipation of mimi " as this was her major comeback album that gave her multiple big hits & lots of awards. Look for the ultra platinum edition as that one has her 17th number 1 " dont forget about us ". Also you mentioned her Church vibe songs. Cant wait for you to hear " fly like a bird " beautiful well loved Church vibe song & inspirational.

YES I love the Charmbracelet appreciation. Lullaby will grow on you. The tone was a lot for me at first, but when you're accustomed to it, it goes hard. The Bringin' On The Heartbreak whistle is one of my favorites -- it sounds like she's doing a guitar scream with her voice and it's BEAUTIFUL. If you enjoy the humor I think you're gonna love Memoirs! It's another one of the less appreciate albums of hers, but it's one of my favorites. Songs are fantastic, very sonically ohesive, and the LYRICS XD
