Joshua Bassett honestly just gave all of us a piece of his heart. It’s okay to not like someone, but when you are sending them death threats and they’re scared for their life, that is not okay at all. SET HIM FREE

about the career move lyric, i think he was referring at the fact that she never put a statement telling her fans to not hate people and just put more fire and didn’t really care if people were getting deaths treats cause of it. she doesn’t need to say if the songs are about him or not but she definitely saw the hate and could just put a little statement saying something like “i’m a songwriter i write about personal experience but please don’t go send hate to people you think it’s about”

He definitely does not mean her using her emotional experiences is a "career move." This song implies that she exaggerated certain aspects of the situation (half the shit you're saying's only half true, you sensationalize for the headlines) and did not tell people to stop attacking Joshua so her career could grow from all the press. Sharing her genuine experiences doesn't mean she couldn't have told people not to attack Joshua. Further, like I said, this song suggests that some of her writing was not totally genuine (i.e. in enough for you she basically says he left her when he got bored and doesn't care “found someone more exciting the next second you were gone” but in Crisis Joshua says she was actually the one who left first). The act of writing genuine songs, even if they involved Joshua, was not the "career move" he is referring to.

i completely agree with everything. i went and relistened to some of the songs on sour with the new perspective that she’s only telling what SHE believes to be true and it really is mind blowing. the lyric you mentioned could be taken as she was just so insecure that she convinced herself he didn’t love her even if he did. yes he moved on fast and it sucks, but it’s not rly something you can blame him for. they probably had a lot of miscommunication in their relationship as well, which means both parties are at fault, not just one. i will always love and support them both regardless

@@kittyrodriguezbarani360 the fact that olivia stans told joshua to "stop digging at old drama" "playing the victim" "trying to stay relevant by gaslighting" due to these 3 songs just shows how her fanbase is. not to mention set me free literally being about his sexual assault story as a child, her fans invalidating that. thats what happens when a fanbase is based off of drama, it causes hyper obsession. her staying silent to gain traction from the media is just... i don't even know how someone would live that down, making money form villainizing a REAL person.

6:46 :) I hate that person now. joshua sent his money he made mostly to MENTAL HEALTH CARE. and YES it was a career move for Olivia because she fricking let everyone hate on him when all he did was support her.

Girl we had the same reaction. I’ve always supported josh from the beginning to now and I’m hurting from him for what those haters did to him, mentally and physically. I’m glad he is doing okay, I will not be listening to sour the same way I did in the beginning of the year. They are allowed to tell their side of the story and express their emotions. I’ve had him as my lock screen for a while, so I don’t want to see any more hate comments on this video or on my comment because everyone has their own opinion, and to whoever is supporting him after what he went through it’s not a real fan. Sending him death threats it’s the most disgusting I’ve ever seen in my life and I’m disappointed in Olivia not stopping her fans from sending those hate messages to him. I love Olivia and I love Joshua but she should have stopped it as a mature person would have done. I love this video it’s so mature and an honest reaction, can’t wait to see more of your reaction! ❤️

Secret is supposedly about Olivia, as they dated for 16 months and the line, “good 4 u fooling everyone”. We 100% know it isn’t about Sabrina though, as they dated for only 8 months and her sister, Sarah Carpenter, was the creative director of the music video

Poor dude had to go through so much crap in the past year, not to mention his ex spreading dramatized wildfire. This is probably low of me to say now, but i sincerely apologize for just blindly believing Olivia based on similar experiences when in reality he was hurting just as much or more so my bias is to blame for it. After knowing his side though, it made me think she should have handled the situation better and no hate really, just disappointed and feeling desensitized as well as indifferent. One thing for sure though is i don’t think i can ever listen to her songs like i used to in the past before knowing everything. But yeah, wishing the best to the three of them and hope things like this won’t happen again. Side note, never been an Olivia stan. Just a casual fan and never sent death threats, only assuming and jumping to conclusions before knowing things. Also i think Joshua has won me over with his music and writing 🤘🏻

fr, ive listening back to her music after knowing everything and all of them just feel uneasy knowing his side. honestly i cant see myself supporting her anymore personally unless she has a drastic change in morals and character or publicly apologizes.

i don’t know if you read the his GQ article but i think u should. he talks about the meaning of the songs and about his “relationship” with olivia, he said she hasn’t talk to him since drivers license came out and he also said that the whole think between them two was a long time ago

I completely get ur loyalty to Olivia and josh but what I don’t get is why u see Sabrina as a bad person. You have since skin came out. She never said anything bad towards Olivia nor is skin about Olivia. There’s one line in that song that references the situation but not her. Idk it doesn’t seem to fit the timeframe. She obviously didn’t film the mv and record the song after all that shit. She was also in Utah wit josh when it happened and he was in the hospital. Whether it was bad timing or publicity idk but either way she never did anything wrong. She made josh really happy and stuck by him in the hardest times of his life. They’re still on good terms. Sabrina and josh not only talked kindly about Olivia but also praised her all year and Olivia never said shit and did absolutely nothing to stop the drama or even try at least. She retweeted the SNL sketch talking shit about sab and josh. Even earlier this year she admitted josh tried to reach out and to now hear he tried reaching out but she wouldn’t even talk to him not even after he almost died. I don’t mean to be rude but I just don’t see how Sabrina is in the wrong here at all or why she deserves to be looked at as the bad guy. The person who cheated in the song secret was Olivia. I mean “when your woe is me stops working i get ur songs won’t sound the same” is clearly about her. I don’t get how ppl can look at Olivia the same after the Zach sang interview. How can one hear the pain josh has been through and not feel at least disappointed in her. How could u hate somebody who made him the happiest he’s ever been. I mean did u see the way he lit up when he was asked who feel something was about. I don’t think the drama drove them apart but it was obviously a factor in it. Ppl have been hating on Sabrina since they found out they were together and for no reason at all just bc she wasn’t Olivia. She and josh deserve better.
