Red Hood. The story of Jason Todd is incredible. I recently watched Batman: Death in the Family i knew I needed to make something special for this one. If you want more DC Comic songs please let me know! As much as I love writing songs inspired by Anime its fun to change it up!

The story of Jason Todd: Gets the shit beat out of him by Joker, dies, comes back to life, adopts the Red Hood persona, starts out as, I’ll say villain-adjacent upon his return to Gotham and then over time, as he and Bruce take the steps to patch up their relationship, transitions into an anti-hero. Now, as for the song itself, this was such a different kind of take than I was expecting, but damn if Divide doesn’t execute it perfectly. It’s a perfect encapsulation of the more somber parts of Jason’s character, instead of focusing on the more violently inclined part that’s on the surface. The fact that the instrumental is mostly this orchestral/synthetic blend really helps drive that point home.

My favorite Red Hood scene is when there were a lot of Mafia bosses, as in, all of them lead their own gang, standing around a table. Red Hood comes in and tosses like 2 or 3 duffle bags stained red at the bottom, then says, "Those are the heads of all your lieutenants. That took me 2 hours." He then pulls out a tommy gun, points it, and says with glee and giddy, "Wanna see what I can get done in a whole evening?"

Jason Todd went after the Joker and was beaten to death with a crowbar. Talia Al'Ghul brought him back to life by dipping him into the lazarus pit. But after he came back, he was angered because Batman didn't kill the Joker after his death. He then tried to SHOW Batman that it's alright to KILL Supercriminals because if he just keeps locking them up in Arkham, they will always escape and cause more death. So with his new persona, the Red Hood, he decided that you will never be able to STOP crime so he aimed to CONTROL it. "Crime will never cease. So I'm going to make sure that it's controlled. And the only crimes that will happen are victimless crimes." Thus being an anti-hero.

So to give a brief run down of the “Red Hood” mentality, he fights as a Robin in the beginning fighting with Batman’s ideals. After he’s killed, he is later revived and gain the mentality of this. He realizes that if he, Batman, and other Robin’s kept throwing these criminals in prison they’re just going to escape and commit their crimes again. So he resolves to no longer throw them in prison, but to kill them, and end their reign of terror. At least, that’s as far as I understand it

Jason was murdered by joker and brought back to life with the lazzarith pit. Long story short anyone brought back to life using it has a blood lust.

And Jason had a killer instinct prior to the drop. The greener his eyes, the more afraid you should be. There are many things worse than death and Jason knows. Every. Single. One. To the extent that death means very little to him.
