The portal got lit up because the wood he placed near the obsidian caught fire. He put wood down because he didnt have a flint and steel. Also, the new update allows compasses to track people in the nether, so in the later episodes they will use that to track Dream

@@SuperMcGregs you can use any kind of fire i am pretty sure even fire charges work he used wood because it lights easily and you can find it easily and he didn't make a flint and steel because it takes iron which is pretty important and since he was not as good as he is now he needed that iron

Btw, at here (10:36) The reason of that portal got lit is that dream doesn't have any flint and steel so he put some wooden planks infront of the portal, so when planks got lit it also makes the portal lit. Theres so many options for liting a portal.

Wow best dream reaction I've seen! Can't wait to see the rest. Also plan on binge watching the Minecraft series you have. Also in case you haven't found out in your series you can make a snowman from two blocks of snow and a pumpkin. Then use shears to cut off the pumpkin. They will fight by your side with snowballs. If you're curious about when's the point he "snaps", I personally think it was in the second 1v3. I still remember back when it was first uploaded, 1v2 (and prior) was good, but when 1v3 came along things got real, and you can see that in the first 2 minutes of the video. But the rematch (second 1v3) felt MUCH more impactful for me, because at this point Dream wants to prove to himself, their friends, and his viewers that he can absolutely defeat 3 hunters in a manhunt, which is why you can see him do more smart and quick moves throughout the video; in fact, from that video onwards it's when Dream got into "the zone", and absolutely went to god levels of skill. He was already VERY good, don't get me wrong, but it just felt that he improved so much since that point onwards, in my opinion.

As ingenius as Dream is in these videos, the real ingenius thing is the perfect assymetry of how speedrunner vs hunter works. From this evolves an almost action movie plot that steers itself by the mechanics of the game and the brilliance of giving the hunter infinite lives and a compass.

He lit the portal by setting the wood next to it on fire. It takes a while and is based a lot on luck, but it’s the only way if you don’t have a fire charge or a flint and steal. The wood caught fire, because of the lava, if wood is placed next to lava, after a while it’s gonna burn. And that lit the portal.

a little tip for you in survival villages : If you see like cracked marks on iron golem it means its health is low if you right click iron ingots in iron golem it will heal up so the village is protected!
