This Album was Released on November 25, 2018 on the same day The Warning played a Concert at Lunario in Mexico City where they played the Entire Album. There is a Video of this concert on KZbin, the way they played the concert was they started with Dust To Dust then they played a song from their first Album then they played the 3 songs from Chapter One then they Played a Song From their First Album and so On, and if you didn't know that was Pau singing the First song she also sings the Last song in the Album

This song is so much better live! Pau is the principal singer on this song and live she sings and drums at the same time. The male voice is their manager Rudy. This song introduces the story. The narrator is the ghost of the queen at her funeral. Rudy is the preacher giving a sermon on salvation. The story follows a woman who experiences unrequited love, obsession, murder, madness and then death. This song started life as a bass riff composed by Ale. When asked what song she wrote she is most proud of, Ale answers Dust to Dust. Pau wrote the lyrics. Please do the rest of the songs from live concert videos - Lunario or Teatro Metropolitan. They outshine the studio versions.

You could see the whole album played live at Lunario CDMX 2018 .Great sound & video quality.. it's on their playlist.. with that said... Listing to the album with good headphones is really awesome too.. you can hear all the cool inturmentation and vocal/harmonies. I flopped on my couch, headphones on, volume up and listened to the whole thing.. very relaxing journey... See ya🤟🎶☮️

Threw me off with one of your comments. “Dany’s powerful vocals and her riff”! You know that this is Paulina’s anthem (+ “The End”). She opens and closes the album, along with Dany’s wail.

This song was written by Pauline but as I learned from some interviews with the three siblings, this arrangement is an Ale's song. *Absolutely underrated ROCK SONG* Ale was 13 years old. 🤟😎 *TWA* 😎🤟

Watch their performance at the Lunario CDMX first. It is RAW! Ale’s bass dominates. She is mesmerizing, until Dany takes a bow and ‘presents’ Pau, who starts singing, then WOW!!!! Rudy their manager actually joins them on stage as a preacher talking to the masses. This performance at the Lunario still makes the hair on the back of my neck and my arms stand up. Their later performance at the Teatro Metropolitan is perfect, but young Ale’s performance at the Lunario should be experienced.

Pau is just on another level when it comes to story telling. Add in her brilliant sisters and you have an incredible concept album released when they are all teenagers. I was just going outside and tossing the football around at that age.

Agreed, this is fire, actually, this whole album is great. The album came out in late 2018, but I'm sure they were 17,15 and 12 yo when they started writing it... let that sink in, prodigies.

I wish you had reviewed their Lunario concert, the premiere of QOTMS. Furthermore, The Warning played 5 songs from QOTMS at Teatro Metropolitan in Aug 2022. Dust to Dust, Ugh, QOTMS, Dull Knives & Hunter. So if it is possible you can do these 5 from Teatro and review the rest from Lunario. Seeing them perform live is something else. By mixing Lunario 2018 with Teatro Metropoltan 2022 we can also see their evolution over 4 years.

Shame you didn't know about the 2018 Lunario show that they debuted this LP for. They recorded it in HD Audio/Video, and is the gold standard for this LP review. There is also a lyrical breakdown done by a Fan that is on a google doc sheet for all to follow song for song. Either way, glad you did this, and I subbed to follow along. 🤘

The holding hands picture is actually the woman, holding the hand of the innocent girl, and the skeleton hand of the Queen... She sits in between the past and the future... Also, at the end of the song we hear Dany's wail during the song... That is actually the release of the Queen's soul/being, and in the next song we hear where she "ended up" (and what she does)... This story has depth that we know very little about. The Ladies have not let us know and they said that they left things open for interpretation, so these are just my interpretations of what I have read. But. I believe they are correct !!! ⚡️⚡️⚡️

Hey, listen to the album QOTMS live from the Lunario 2018. Listen to this song again and follwo teh story song by song as it is a conceptual album. This song is actually the end of the story and we are at the funeral of the character and are asked to follow the character on the journey...

*Dust to Dust* is the intro song on DPA/TW's "Queen of the Murder Scene" concept album (aka QOTMS)... it is inviting you in to hear the deep, dark, and foreboding story of a young woman apparently in love with someone that doesn't even know she exists... it follows her battles between good and evil over her soul... the Spanish speaking part is their manager, Rudy, playing the part of a preacher at the funeral... translated, this is what he says... Brother! Salvation is something that is earned! Let go of your hand of resentment and Wake up to a new light within you Although your brothers try Plunge into the darkness QOTMS is one of those albums best experienced by listening to it from beginning to end in order... listening to each of the songs piecemeal and out of order is like trying to figure out a movie by catching a portion near the end, one from near the beginning, and one near the middle... yeah, it won't work out very well... as a concept album, many of us members of TWA can easily see it as a movie or Broadway stage performance... it is that good and to think it was written by them at a very young age and released as their 2nd album! i mean... whoa! who does that?? 😹 TWA ⚡🤘😸🤘⚡ TWA

You've said it yourself, there are no bad songs on this album (or in their entire catalogue for that matter) and the storytelling is inspiring to the point that it could easily make for an excellent film or broadway production. The creativity of Pau lyrically and the unmatched songwriting and musical arrangement abilities from all three of these sisters are phenomenal.

Their live playthrough of the album at Lunario is highly recommended. These girls always out-perform their recordings. The only caveat is that there are a handful of earlier songs performed in between the "chapters", but these are easily skipped if you prefer to stick to the album alone. In particular the performance of this song is my favourite version of Dust To Dust. Pau is a killer singing lead while drumming. She's a sight to behold. Never mind, you've already finished the album. If you want though the live D2D is great.

This really is an excellent concept album. The Warning are special live, so I would second the suggestion of watching (with the lyrics pulled up) the concert from Lunario. They way they portray the characters live is worth watching.

Fun fact: if you have the cd or vinyl, the lyrics are handwritten, and start out neat and tidy, then gradually become more messy and frantic, with words shouting out from the page. Coffee stains are replaced by blood splatters. The illustrations were based off photos of the girls, and drawn by Rudy's sister.

There are two live versions of this on their website that are even better. One is the Lunario concert where they debuted the album, and the other is from the Foro Didi concert. Check them out! The absolutely mind-blowing thing about these is the writing ability they had at their ages when they created it! Combine that with their musical abilities and you just drop your jaw on the floor.

They are much better live but I would recommend doing this album as the studio version first as you did here for the whole album. Then you can do the concert at Lunario in which they played the whole album live for the first time. Just FYI, this is Pau the drummer singing lead here. When played live she is drumming and singing at the same time which is incredible. Will be watching the rest of your reactions to this album. To think they wrote this concept album at such a young age is incredible and I consider it to be one of the best concept albums ever.

This album is well recorded, no doubt, but for me, it falls far short of seeing the Villarreal sisters perform it on stage. The Lunario video is a gem of incalculable value. For me, in the Lunario presentation, there are some elements in their performance that are even better than in later presentations. It is a raw artistic expression, without filters.

Brother, I just want to say thank you for diving into lyrics. I’m 51 now. When I was young, I just loved the agree Scion or vibe of a song. Then around 40, I realized that these songs all had lyrics and were saying things. When I was young I was just too ignorant to understand. Which is also another added layer to these young ladies and other artists that wrong heavy lyrics when young. So, I appreciate seeing someone else that appreciates good literal and metaphorical lyrical writing. Thank you. Also, stumbled across this channel earlier this week via Jinjer reaction and analysis.
