Reacting to ENTIRE BTS MAMA 2016 Performance (after the Boy Meets Evil Dance hooked me)

This one is from a couple months ago, but as I'm trying to get back to a more consistent schedule with KZbin and Patreon videos, I found this while editing and remembered how much I loved it - so I hope you do as well!
I've watched and listened to TONS more BTS and members since this was filmed way back in January - but Jimin and Hobi's dance off is really something special, so I had to post!

This is such a crazy performance. the fact that Jimin is BLINDFOLDED and they are completely in sync. this whole award show was incredibly important. After they won Jiminie did a live if i remember right. He was so just dumbfounded that they won.. they were all so emotional. I was a very new army so I broke.

I was a professional dance and I am so totally hooked. I have no idea how he did that. blindfolded, dancing, had to stay in the spotlight, then be in sync with Hobie, amazing. and then for his next trick, after that dance, take 30 sec of breath and lead vocals and dance of the next song. WTAF?????? These guy have my total devotion and I'm a old, snob of music woman.

the Lie x Boy Meets Evil mashup IS EVERYTHING. i’m ready to have kids with that masterpiece of a remix. also Tae in Fire… he owns, he eats, he breathes it in like it’s nothing wtf. but Jimin and J-Hope duo is still one of my FAVORITE performances by BTS ever. it’s just fucking cool and amazing.

Without the language barrier, I think Jin is the one I'd most like to hang out with, because goofy puns and dad-jokes and over-the-top dramatic reactions speak to my SOUL. JK is my bias - but it's more of the puppy-vibes, he-could-be-my-son, and his ADHD energy (I'm not saying he HAS ADHD, I'm just saying that I and my son have it and his ADHD-traits (which, again, you can have without actually having ADHD) speak to me!) which I find ADORABLE. RM and Suga are too intellectual and super-competent and deep and would intimidate me. Jimin and J-Hope seem like fun people to hang out with. I love V too, but his mindset is too different from mine, I get why Jimin refers to him as his "alien", I would be second-guessing myself too much and wonder if we're still on the same page or if I've misunderstand something.

So, about the camera work - this was the norm for about any performance BTS had at an award or music show back then because of how they were treated in the industry. Since they weren't part of the "Big 3" labels, they didn't have the money for sponsorships that would in turn benefit the music stations. No money to the stations meant they didn't give a damn about things like camera work or giving them a full slot for performing - until they actually started winning. 🙄

About Blackpink, honestly I'm not a fan, though I respect them very much for their talent, skill and hard work: I just don;t see the depth and bredth of artistry that I see with BTS, and I'm here for the message. But, hell, this is your channel - you do what you want, and talk about what you want. I'd only say, please try not to compare Blackpink to BTS. A number of people talk about BP being the female BTS, and actually outstripping them - we're quite tired of that, and No, neither is true - they have a much narrower and shallower body of work. But BTS and Blackpink are on friendly terms. You talk about what you want.

That wasn’t the context that I mentioned BlackPink at all - I like BlackPink, I know a few of their songs but the context in which I mentioned them was that they were kind of my “gateway drug” into K-POP and literally the only group I knew prior to this journey. I think what BTS does is untouchable, so I agree with you I think it’s unfair to parallel them to BTS.

The biggest flex now being the Grammy who let big hit direct the camera at their latest performance.

So because of no artists from these 2 largest companies attending there were no competition in performing nor winning awards against BTS. With MAMA usually if you're nominated and you attend the show you may win the award you're nominated for. But if you're nominated and the end result was obvious that you should have won the award but you didn't attend the show, the award will be given the 2nd place winner. Even if they attended they still won't win the award(s) they were nominated for because BTS was still on top and dominating the nominations. I KNOW Alex, I know...!! 😂 That intro by Jimin in BST, with his eyes looking straight into one's soul, was what got me into BTS and made Jimin my ult bias and, most of the time, my bias wrecker too. Seeing him dance blindfolded was an eyegasm (is that even a word? 🤔😂). Jimin is coming out with his solo album on 24 March, the single being released on 17 March.
