This song takes you to a different place. It is truly beautiful. I know that I will never meet anyone from BTS but after hearing Jimin's song "Letter", I know that this is a person I would want to know. The fact that he put this sentiment to words and music is amazing to me.💜💜💜

I loved your reaction 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 thank you so much. Jimin in his interview with Jimmy Fallon said that this album is a chronological order of things that happened to him over the pandemic. It is basically telling us a story. There is a documentary about all the criation of the album. I think that you will enjoy to watch. Thank you JahJah! 💜

My first listen to albums is usually via streaming on my phone using my earbuds. Since I knew the Face album had a hidden CD-only track, my first listen was on my stereo with my much-higher-quality headphones. When Letter started playing it sounded like Jimin was right behind me, close enough that I could lean back into a hug. All I could do was close my eyes and cry. I had to listen a second time to follow along with the translation and they made me cry even harder. Never in my 52 years would I have imagined that someone living on the other side of the globe who has no idea I exist could make me feel so deeply loved. Of all their talents and wonderful personality traits, the biggest magic of BTS is their ability to connect and comfort like a close personal friend. Having them in my life is such a blessing.

Omg! I cried for 3 weeks every time I listened to Letter... my husband would see me crying with my headset on,and he'd say,' Are you listening to it again?' Honestly. I love the acoustic versions of Letter and Like Crazy...and Who too.

There's a live of Dear Army ... although I love that you can hear the adlibs from JK on the album version a little clearer... I love how they all support each other and that they seriously do love and worry about Army.... they were getting ready to leave for the military and all of them put in extra time and effort for us. The whole album is so good... I didn't think he could top it... but then came along Muse .... they're ridiculously talented...

The album version of Letter also has the haunting harmonica music, which is not on the live Dear Army Letter. That circus music you didn't like reminds me Smeraldo Garden Marching Band from Muse album. He made both albums at pretty much the same time.

Suga's Set Me Free is a completely different song, no link at all. Jimin just put pt2 to differentiate his song. I'm so glad you watched Letter. It is such a gentle intimate song. The first few times I listened to it I felt like Jimin was singing just for me. It is one of my top favourite songs. The live version Dear Army Letter is very nice too, but no harmonica and sung to an acoustic guitar.

I graduated high school in '84 and spent the rest of the '80s clubbing and going to concerts and gigs in the San Fransisco Bay area. Like crazy puts me right back there.

From my physical copy of the album, there is written: "An echo, tremor and small movement to reach you." "Circle of resonance/Face of facing the deepest part of inner-self." "Reflection of vulnerable minds and unexposed wounds. Face, the reflection of myself in an unfamiliar appearance." I think the album is called Face because he's both reflecting on himself (facing himself), revealing himself to us in the process (his true face), and confronting others who have hurt him (the Face-Off of the first track). Mirrors were a huge part of the promotion and teasing of this album. He danced all of BTS's prior mirror themed choreo leading up to the announcement of the album, there's the album art that looks like a reflection in water, and mirrors/circles were present in the MVs, choreo, and stage performances. For example, there's the spiral choreo in SMF pt.2 and the poem on his chest is "I Live my Life in Widening Circles" by Rilke. And in Like Crazy he faces off with the woman on the dance floor (the only other person who appears in clear focus), the room spins, the scene cuts, and he faces himself in the mirror singing about his reflection in the lyrics. This is also the point of the song where there's the mirrored choreography with the female dancer. There were also two versions of the album, Invisible Face and Undefinable Face. Invisible Face has the "software" concept photos where he's dressed in white in soft looking clothing (like at the end of SMF pt.2), looking vulnerable with scratches on his face. Undefinable Face has the "hardware" concept photos where he's in all in black, mostly leather, and with some shirtless photos and thorns running up his face. I think there was a lot he was trying to say with this album, so it's hard to properly explain what I think it's about unless I focus on a single aspect, but there are a lot of really interesting elements to it. That's one thing I really admire about Jimin as an artist--he really uses every single aspect of his art to convey his meaning.

Yes! The rings are like ripples when you drop a pebble in water. The album was silver with the rings raised, so it really was like ripples from a water drop. When you looked at it, you were facing yourself, albeit a little warped. It was truly brilliant packaging. The interlude speaking was from the Busan concert - the last one bts had as a group before Jin enlisted. He did say he found that at a certain point, he was drinking way too much. Drinking to escape, maybe? That certainly lends itself to going from this into Like Crazy. And LC made me 80s heart so damn happy - both the song and the clothes in the mv. Bedazzled jean jacket? Mapplethorpe on his pants? Mullet? Yessssssss. Alone… Alone broke my heart. It’s why listening to this album in order is so important. We go from him realizing he’s had the wrong people in his life (he’s said that), the brief respite of doing what he loves, drinking and having fun to avoid the feelings pressing in and being in denial that there is some dark stuff happening inside of him, to acceptance that it’s there. That he’s depressed and has been. Still trying to pretend he’s okay for everyone else. And then finally, Set Me Free. He’s fighting himself that entire song, begging his depression and other dark thoughts he’s had about himself to go and set him free. The end of that MV made me burst into tears without even knowing what it was about. That’s a conversation for a different day though. I’ve already gone on too long. I loved this album. He really opened up and was vulnerable in a way I wasn’t expecting. I’m proud of him, not just for the album, but for doing the work on himself and coming out the other side, finally setting himself free. Ohhhhhh… yes please on an HBCU covering SMF Pt. 2. That would be amazing.

Musts for you 😊 Live of Like Crazy English version on Jimmy Fallon, acoustic of Like Crazy on Lee Munjin, Live of Letter but for that it was called Dear Army :). Ty so much. Oh, he also has a video of him listening to this whole album while he is walk g around doing random stuff and it had subtitles so I think you would like that. Maybe someone here remembers the name of it.

i get what youre saying how the intro/first song typically give you a glimpse of what the albums gonna be like and that can be most cases but dont have you heart set on that for bts or rather dont set that up genre-wise cause you may end up with expectations that wont be reached. i see what you said mainly applying to most of the solo albums from bts members even then when i look back its still not quite maybe V and JK have it the most where the 1st songs genre sets the tone for the album to be similar. however that whole thought process will genre - wise be thrown out the window. lyrically though you may have a point. because without giving spoilers also for armys who read this think of love yourself era albums if she means genre specific think of tear and that wouldnt fit lyrically tho tear does fit but not genres i mean its not jarring they flow into each other but if you listened to the first and last song you wouldnt think theyd be on the same album or if you picked random songs in the middle youd think it was a mistake to put on the same album until you heard it in order and read the lyrics. lyrics are the most important part of bts even if the lyrics are in english like RM's neva play. those lyrics were a huge slap to a lot of people who hate on bts and megan. lyrics are what mainly ties all bts albums group and solo together.
