They take inspiration from each other but the main difference is Korean makeup focuses of natural looks and eyes, chinese makeup is more making yourself more like a doll, like a perfect human face and more out there eye looks compared to the more toned down eyes in Korean makeup

I'm also surprised that people who are into K-beauty don't talk about JSM either. I remember following her over a decade ago. Maybe in like 2010 or 2011? I always enjoyed how she did her videos because it was different from just a beauty video. It felt like you were taking a makeup class rather than someone just doing a look if that makes sense. Thank you so so much for acknowledging us very pale girlies here in the west. It is so hard to find shades light enough in the brands i like a lot of the times and i feel like its not talked about as much. Obviously we have it better than those with very dark skin tones, but i feel like each of the extremes is rarely acknowledged in western beauty shade ranges.😅

Chinese or douyin makeup is almost fairy-like in appearance, glam but soft and fairy-like. K-beauty is mostly really just clean aesthetics. Also in Chinese makeup they like to use A LOT OF FREAKING GLITTER! Some Chinese makeup like to use thos red, dark-rose palette.

I was on a k beauty mailing program for new and trending makeup. It included a lot of masks, serums, scrubs and foams.... etc. The makeup was all very flattering and not dark. I wear nearly no makeup at 43 and refuse to start now lol I am really very pale and loved the foundation.

i always had a hard time matching my skin tone in western makeup. when I switched to a Korean foundation, It matched so well, I've never looked back at western makeup. The other plus side is that I also don't react to a fair number of kbeauty products (I have contact dermatitis, so it can be challenging to find products where I won't break out after so many uses), so another win for kbeauty/korean skin care products!

Ok I been watching Edward for almost 8 years now way back when,,, and started watching again for about 3 years now and I just can't get enough of his hairy armpits now!!! Love that he doesn't shave them like so many Korean KZbinrs/beauty boys do especially now days! Keep em hairy and keep em coming Edward!!!
