Nothing but facts in this song. Small towns don’t want the drama of the violent woke. They get a free pass in the cities but majority of small towns won’t stand for that BS.

It is not the "woke" people who are violent. White supremacy and right wing extremism are responsible for the most violence in the country. 93% of BLM protests were peaceful. The ones that weren't were instigated by white supremacists, who testified in court they were at these protests attempting to make it look like BLM was violent.

My mom swore up and down that this MV was racist and couldn't give me one solid example from the video as to why. Funniest thing, she even said she LIKED THE SONG without the video. I think it's honestly sad that some people are so desperate to find racism where there is none. We even watched other black reactions to the video (her idea) and none of them thought it was racist. She claims it's "my generation" that don't see race, which I almost died laughing about. As if Gen Z (I'm millennial) are not using racism like a currency right now.

I think Amir is totally right in his statement that this is a “fuck around and find out” song. The thing is, gang rap and other similar genres with the exact same message, just from different people, is extreme popular on the left. It’s interesting that suddenly, if a small town population wants to defend their values, they must be neo-nazis and lynchers while the literal gang murderers get to determine the cultures of cities.

The lines about the gun: "Got a gun that my granddad gave me They say one day they're gonna round up Well, that shit might fly in the city, good luck". In that case I believe he's talking about gun control, one day they're gonna round up those guns...meaning take them, gather them. The location has caused the uproar. The song has been out since May. Jason did not pick the location, the video production company did. You should watch the "making of" video of this. Just because someone films a video somewhere doesn't mean they approve (or even know about) everything that ever happened in that spot. If we are going to go and say we can't film videos/movies in places where anything bad ever happened, we would have to wipe out a LOT of our past movies and it would also severely limit where we could film future ones. As far as that goes, how far back do we need to go? 1920's? 1800's? Biblical times? If that is the basis for people considering this video "racist" then we are in serious trouble as a country. For all those complaining about this video: First it was democrats that lynched the teenager in 1927! Second several movies have featured this same courthouse. Third Everyone seems to miss the news footage from Jan. 6 th that is also featured in this video. Fourth the video is showing CRIMES, not peaceful protests. Fifth there are numerous WHITE offenders shown in this video. Sixth and last, this is exactly how small towns are, have their neighbors backs!

I'm a Black woman and I love this song and I enjoy country music. I didnt see anything wrong or racist about the video or the lyrics. If nothing else, it helped people wake back up from this crazy woke agenda that sees everything as racist no matter what it is. The truth always gets attacked. Why would anybody assume this song was about Black Americans? Were they hoping we would be outraged and start some mess? But even assuming that is actually racist if you think only Black people protest, riot, or commit crimes. I saw more white people in the video than any other group. Was he racist for doing that?🤦🏾‍♀️

Most of the outrage I’ve seen is because where the music video was filmed. The backdrop is the Maury County Courthouse in Columbia, Tennessee, site of a 1946 race riot and the 1927 mob lynching of an 18-year-old black man named Henry Choate.

Hey Jason! I loved watching you react to this video so honestly. "A small town" COULD be anywhere, a neighborhood, a community center, a church, anywhere people have each other's backs. You give me hope for the future of our country. Not a country music fan, but I LOVE this song which gives a voice to what all patriotic Americans are feeling and thinking. Kudos to Jason Aldean for having the courage to shine the light on the evil ANTIFA trying to take over our beautiful country. A black eye to the politically correct communist popo! Yay! AND the music is DOPE!

The music video was recorded at the place where the last lynching took place, which is an obvious racist dogwhistle. Aldean also repeats the lie that the 2020 rioters during BLM protests were POC and BLM, when in fact they were white supremacists. Over 93% of BLM protests were peaceful, and the ones that weren't were done by white nationalist groups who admitted this in court. Aldean is also very open about his far-right and neo-fascist political views, which lines up with white supremacy and anti-LGBTQIA+ rhetoric.

Also I want to thank you for looking at it like it really is. This has nothing to do with race, religion, sexual preference or anything that will exclude anyone. We just want peace and freedom. Yes there are and always will be racism and hate but as a whole that’s not what we want. What we want it’s freedom for all and to be free from fear of someone burning down our home or business. Your a gay man and you are more than welcome in my home for dinner just like a You we’re my own family. I do NOT see color, I see character of an individual. Anyone want to condemn me for that then go to Hell. God Bless you brother. God loves us all.

Let me clear up a big reason people had an issue with this video in particular…. He filmed this in front of a pretty well known courthouse in Columbia, TN. I grew up in that town. This town is known for a local holiday called Mule Day. A long time ago people came from miles and miles to sell mules and also slaves!!!! The courthouse steps that he’s filming on is where they had public hangings for black people!! It wasn’t about the lyrics of the song. He said a lot with the location of that video without saying a word.

It's not a threat... it's a statement and a fact. I'm from a small town and we take care of each other. We know our neighbours and their children. We know the corner store owner. I get my car fixed for a case of beer, a good meal and me helping out in the yard next week. My sister had bikes stolen from her kids.... within a day, we knew who it was because families know each other and parents hold their children accountable. This is only a threat to those who have a guilty conscious.

Thank you, sir. You get most of it. He's more saying that the riots and things that go on in big cities won't be allowed by people in a small town. You want to riot in a small town, everyone will bond together to stop you because that's not respectful. The key to remember is that the people who are crying that this is racist are the ones who are racist themselves. Racism actually goes more black toward white than it does white toward black. If everyone took the attitude of small towns, there wouldn't be riots. People need to take care of each other regardless of skin color. You talk about being a gay black man. In a majority of small towns, no one would care. If you are a respectful person then you would be treated with respect and that respect would come right off the bat. In big cities, you almost have to 'earn' respect from neighbors - most of whom don't want or care anything about you anyway. In small towns, they care.

i think the song is a fair warning to people who think activism is a real thing they could do in their individual lives. now those people need to know about the 2nd amendment. most people have guns and the only time you see people rioting or committing mass crimes is in areas where gun control is the strongest. if you go out to a place where 2nd amendment is used by everyone these riots might have a very different outcome because the people would come out of their homes and business armed and ready to defend themselves. i think this is a NICE thing jason aldeen did for these people who are being brainwashed into acting violently

Jason is from Georgia where the state of emergency was. I don’t know when I don’t watch the news. But this video was shot in Columbia Tennessee, which is where Jason currently lives with his wife and family. That’s a courthouse with the flag hanging off of it which is one of the oldest structures in Columbia. People are trying to say that because of the lynching against Black people at this courthouse took place back in the 1920s that Jason intentionally shot the video there as a subliminal message supporting lynching, which is absolutely and utterly absurd. He simply shot the video there because it’s a monumental landmark in his hometown, and he doesn’t like to travel far away from his family when he works when he can avoid it because of the touring that he usually does.

I was in a store the other day at a checkout line with my three boys. There were two black fellas in front of us. Probably early 30's age. Both had their jeans below their butt cheeks and their underwear were exposed for all to see. They walked with their legs spread so as to keep their pants from falling all the way down. My boys looked at them and then looked at me and I said one word, "unemployable." It was not racist, it was a fact of life and life decisions. They are unemployable by their own actions.
