Even Douglas’s good picks soft Gardner and Garrett were the 2nd players taken at their respective positions. (Stingley at 3 and London at 8.) So it took some luck with other teams picking the wrong players for Douglas to have a good draft at all. And all of us Jets fans would have made those picks.

The problem is Rodgers failing was very predictable. Wasn’t great his last year in GB. Took a major injury prior to turning 40, and then couldn’t be bothered to show for minicamp and try to get on the same page with his team. He got EVERYONE fired.

Almost the worst mistake Joe Douglas made was signing Tyron Smith in FA off a torn hamstring. Anyone who watches the Cowboys knew that guy was done after that injury. Another move that sounded good because there was a Name, but if you looked into it was bound to be a disaster.

The Jets have enough challenges to deal with. Drafting a QB with the first pick just adds another challenge to deal with. They need to focus on getting the team to competent. Be boring, draft a RT, solidify the offensive line for the next 5+ years. Go QB hunting later

1. I would be open to Rodgers sticking around if we get a strong GM / coach that can put him in his place / treat him like anyone else. I have visions of Favre and AR going having a career year elsewhere. 2. I would love to have Curtis Martin, one of my favorite players ever. I fear Woody would ruin him though. 3. I think Rex would come back as DC.

I think people are over exaggerating the retool/rebuild we have a lot of pieces already a new coach changes the entire team we have our future LT, a RB room, Garrett and we should def keep Davante who else are we gonna get in the open market or draft that’s better? We have a lot of pieces on defense still couple moves here and there and we’re back We need to address QB per usual but the nfl is the only sport where you can turn around your entire next season in one offseason with good moves
