Agree 100% with all the criticism. But right now our first and most obvious focus is getting our next QB, regardless of all the other areas that need to be addressed, be it players, coaches or GM'S. I'm not absolving Joe or Brian of their missteps, but I am willing to give them 2 more years (With THEIR QB), to prove their worth. The first year there should be marked improvement. By the second year they should contend for a playoff spot. If only one or neither of that criteria is met, then I would show them the door.

While i agree with a lot of what you said. The argument i will make is that you both have even said that nobody could have predicted that Kayvon and Neal would not be as good as they were in college. We can't completely blame Schoen for that. My gripe is how they handle other situations, like qb in the offseason, or lack of trading Slayton and Azeez

Imagine if they hadjust taken the 5th yr on DJ instead. We would have had an easier out after his failed 5th year and would be gone now

My pick for QB this year would be Cam Ward or Jalen Milroe. I think both guys have a much higher upside than what Sanders has. I know Milroe has some development he needs but that is why Daboll is here. I think signing a veteran bridge guy to be the start at the begining of the season and work on developing Milroe. Similar to what the Patriots did with Maye.

the 2022 draft class was not a Schoen draft class. He got the job just before the draft and didn't have time to get his guys in place. Not to mention he had no cap space to work with. The 2023 draft class was handicaped by the fact the the 2022 season went so well for the Giants. Schoen wanted to draft a QB at the top of the 2023 draft couldn't do it because he had the 24th pick overall. Free agency was also shaped by the success of 2022. Schoen would have hit the reset button had the 2022 team been bad. The fact they won led Schoen to need to try to make moves to push the team to the next level. Unfortunately the team played back down to the level they were at. Schoen just started the rebuild in the 2024 offseason. He has the cap fixed now he has the O line much improved from what it has been. In the upcoming offseason Schoen will have a large amount of cap space and a top draft pick to use on a QB. That with some of the pieces in place they have a starting RB they have a WR 1 they have a functional O line when Andrew Thomas was healthy. They have some pieces on defense but some of those pieces like Banks was drafted to fit Winks defense. A defense where he would be playing mostly man press. His pre draft scouting report says he struggles in offman and zone coverages. They brought in pieces to fit a scheme that is very different than what they are running now. That is a big problem.

@AlexWilsonESM I agree there is a couple spots you should take a guy at evey draft. 1 is QB you should draft a QB every year. 2 is Offensive line you should draft an Offensive lineman every year same could be said for the defensive line. Having trench guys in house to develop to atleast provide depth is a must. Same with QB bring in high upside QBs to work with every year. That's not me saying to draft a QB at the top of the draft every year but mid to late round fliers can sometimes pan out.

In all honesty…Schoen isn’t “lying” when he says the giants aren’t far off.. out of the 8 loses I think maybe 7 of them are 1 score games… Nobody is blowing the giants out. And the defense was leading the league in sacks..I mean you get us a competent QB that can throw the ball more than 5 yards I think we are in business lol

Too wrapped up in his press conference and how he handles the media. The only thing that matters is the roster he has put together. There are plenty of reason you can say he hasn't done a good job but saying that the rookies that are playing well is bad and he should have signed the free agents instead is ludicrous. Rookies are a lot cheaper. If they can do a good job at a cheap price then that is very valuable. That is GOOD! Some of his draft selections have been good and some bad. Same with some free agent signings. The biggest move was giving Jones a contract. He didn't have the balls to move on from him and he didn't this past draft either. They should have offered next year's 1st rd pick and Dexter Lawrence to the Patriots so they could have gotten Drake Maye. Needed to draft him. Now they won't have any good options at qb this year. I'd sign Sam Darnold or Russel Wilson if they can but I don't know what his contract details are for next year.

@Anthony_Rivardo I agree about not being married to a QB. I would have definately drafted Herbert in that draft even with Jones on the roster. I was high on Herbert in 2019 when he went back I think the Giants should have pivoted to the OLB. Then drafted a QB in 2020. I think even with Daboll and Schoen in place if they take Ward or Milroe or whoever. If the Giants have a chance to take a guy in 2026 that they see is "Elite" that is better than Ward or whoeve they draft in 2025 they should draft the QB. I am good with say Arch Manning and Cam Ward both on the team in the QB room. As long as they remian on rookie deals the cost wont kill the cap. Even with a starter in place you need a backup so even if you draft Arch because he was the better option as a starter still Cam could give you a few years of a quality backup.

First L episode of the season. Filled with misinterpretations, misattributions, and borderline fear-mongering. This episode really made me feel like you need a third cooler head in the room, I feel you agree too much to even play a proper devil's advocate in certain situations. All the talk of Daboll was entirely fabricated. The conversation on "What if your young core got injured?", was seemingly meant to incite a reaction instead of talking about the real issue; the depth. The problem persists even with veteran players instead of the young rookies, anyone can get injured. Again, misattributing a problem that isn't necessarily a problem, the real issue is underlying. Would love a more legitimate, realistic, cooler-headed discussion of what Joe Schoen ACTUALLY said, instead of misinterpretations, and trying too hard to read between the lines, fabricating storylines.

Giants are rebuilding. This team almost never actually tears it down and rebuilds. Schoen and Daboll deserve to stay and draft a QB, especially if they’re playing Lock and DeVito the rest of the year. Go and see the New York Jets if you want to see what a panic firing looks like. The only people who interview for jobs like that will be washed retreads and patsy hires (like Judge was). Plus your next GM will probably be an in-house promotion like Dennis Hickey or Kevin Abrams. Stay the course. Daboll’s play-calling has been good, any other QB should be able to execute at least half of it. Schoen’s 2024 draft class looks terrific, and some of his FA signings (Burns, Van Roten, Eluemunor, Runyan) also have panned out nicely. I’d rather see Mara stay the course and exercise patience, since he signed off on the outside hire and the rebuild (that might I add, EVERYONE ASKED FOR.)
